Police Log Confirms Owen Wilson's Suicide Attempt

"Extra" has obtained the Calls for Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson's house as an "attempted suicide."

The call was received on Sunday, August 26 at 12:08:16 p.m. The incident was "cleared" almost five hours later at 5:07:16pm.

As "Extra" reported yesterday, sources confirmed that Wilson had indeed attempted suicide. His brother Luke found him, and he was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica before he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he is listed in "good condition."

Owen I do hope you recover soon and seek help for your depression. My father had a fail attempt at suicide going back in 2001 due too depression. I was so angry at him for trying to end his life. I did get over my anger and I now realize how lucky I am to have my father still in my life.

Do you feel good about yourself. Oh, congrats, you were the first to confirm the story. I hope this never happens to someone in your family, but more importantly, I hope your fellow journalists give you the respect that any human deserves. Just because he is a celebrity does not make this OK.

Those who say suicide is a selfish act are the ones who are selfish! I can’t imagine a more narcissistic view of another’s pain. All these narcissists are able to see is how another person’s pain affects them. Ultimately everything is a selfish act to some extent, but good unselfish people are able to have empathy for others. Those who view suicide this way have no empathy and are extreme narcissists.

Depression and hard times effect everyone… even celebrities that SEEM to have it all. Give him a break and let him recover in peace.

Oh Owen I am so sorry about what happened to you. I don’t really know the reason why you did it and I know it’s not strictly any of my business but I want you to know that you lived and everything happens for a reason. Those who feel pain for you are not just doing so because you’re famous but because, like us, you are only human. Don’t leave yet. You’re going to be alright.

wow! Some of you sure are as sensitive and caring as a cockroach! I pray that you never have any problems in your own lives that lead to crying out for help! If only everyone were as perfect as you all bashing and saying how selfish he is. No one knows what kind of personal hell he may be going thru and surely the only one who can save him is Jesus. I pray that he finds him in his cry for help.
Note - people have a heart and stop the hate, read the new testament and live like the Son.

Those people on here judging have obviously never gone through a deep depression. A true depression is not something you just snap out of or just get over. Imagine waking up every morning and just wishing you hadn’t woken up. Everything is dull, the sights you see, the sounds you hear, the food you eat. My depression lasted for over 6 months and yes I did think about suicide during that time. I didn’t act on it but I can see that I easily could have. Don’t judge people until you are in their shoes. He was crying out for help not for a bunch of bible thumpers to come out and start judging him. Do you really think that is what Jesus would say to this man during his hour of need? My Jesus would console him and try to guide him back to the light.

WHAT HAPPEND TO THE STATEMENT OWEN MADE ABOUT RESPECTING HIS PRIVACY DURING THIS TIME. IT’S BEEN CONFIRMED, SOMETHING WE ALL SUSPECTED AND WOULD EVENTUALLY COME OUT ON HIS TERMS. BUT, THANKS FOR OBTAINING THE POLICE SCAN. AND MAKE IT PUBLIC NEWS. I CAN SEE WHERE THAT IS SHOWING HIM THE RESPECT AND SUPPORT THAT HE ALREADY ASKED FOR!

Poor thing. Bless his heart.
I feel like a stupid idiot for even clicking onto this page. It is none of our business. How would you all like it if you attempted suicide and people were talking about it like it was some hot scandle. We should all be ashamed.
He asked to have the media give him privacy, so that is what we all should do. I feel for the guy.

Yeah it’s really easy for all you people to point fingers and call names but just you wait until it’s somebody you care who’s in so much pain they’d actually take a step like that..oh wait…they’d be forgotten like the nobody they are..they selfish jerk…RIGHT??.Do you know the circumstances? I didn’t think so…get a life.

I’m so tired of people saying that he was a selfish celebrity & that the would kill to have his job blablalba..

Do we know him and the ins and outs of his life? Well first of all his CAREER is only a small part of who he is & does not define him. Second of all the rest of us probably do not have a smigden of the talent he has to do his job. So, if he had sucessfully committed suicide it would be just as much if not more of a loss for us than it is a loss for him.

Besides that there are many ways to try kill yourself. He just chose the socially UNACCAPTABLE form. That would mean that people who SMOKE themselves to death or WORK themselves to death or EAT themselves to death are selfish, reckless cowards as well? We all know people who do these things.

If Owen was depressed or suffering from some sort of mental illness it affects the chemical balance in the brain. That, added with alcohol addiction & drug addiction (if these rumours are true) would just create a vicious circle where he wasn’t really himself and couldn’t control his actions. The problem is that mental illness like depression is not recognized by society as an illness but is just considered weak. Maybe it was those pills he was taking? No one knows another person’s pain. Newsflash we are all FLAWED. If he’s going through some sort of deep rooted pain why not let the guy admit it and get on with it. This non-stop judging and criticizing is not going to help this talented, sweet guy. This is just really sad. People should be trying to encourage him instead of tearing him down.

you might not agree with what he did but we still need to pray for him—doesn’t the bible say not to judge others? I’m praying that Owen gets the help that he needs and that his family finds peace as well.

Yes, suicide is a selfish act I agree but it’s also a call for help. Just because someone is in so much pain that they see death as their only option doesn’t make them a jerk. How can people be so cruel. He has problems like everyone else have some fricken compassion! Hopefully he gets help. Just because he’s a movie star don’t think you “know” him and what he struggles with.

Misunderstanding mental illness (of which clinical depression is a form) often results in comments like those above. Suicidal thoughts & attempts are often the result of true depression. Owen Wilson deserves as much empathy as anyone who has made a suicide attempt. To make a surface comment about “selfishness” just because someone has a life different from one’s own is uninformed & ignorant at best. His attempt should show all of us that Depression is an illness that impacts everyone, regardless of social status, wealth, etc. Light & Love to Owen!

He is obviously in a bad state. Leave him alone and let him heal. Imagine how he must feel. Americans are so quick to pull people down and ruin lives. Does it make you feel better that his suicide is confirmed? If so, then you need to evaluate the type pf life you lead.

THERE IS AN UNJUSTIFIED WAR GOING ON IN THE WORLD. Wake up and pay attention to things that mean something to the lives of the people in the world around you.

Does Owen not realize that if a women will cheat on her husband with you, she’ll cheat on you with someone else.
