Police Log Confirms Owen Wilson's Suicide Attempt

"Extra" has obtained the Calls for Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson's house as an "attempted suicide."

The call was received on Sunday, August 26 at 12:08:16 p.m. The incident was "cleared" almost five hours later at 5:07:16pm.

As "Extra" reported yesterday, sources confirmed that Wilson had indeed attempted suicide. His brother Luke found him, and he was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica before he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he is listed in "good condition."

Now is the time for the media to leave Owen and his family alone and allow him peace and privacy as well as the opportunity to receive the medical attention he needs and deserves.
His acting has given me many laughs and helped me to lighten up through some rough times over the last few years.
Owen, just know you have a lot of fans who love you out there. We’re all here for you, with our love and support. God bless you at this difficult time.

Owen is not just-any-celebrity. He makes us laugh and cry from laughing. I think its a big shock to everyone because he had never talked about how he deals with depression so we all saw him as a funny happy-go-lucky type. This probably put some stress on him in terms of having to maintain a certain persona that was completely real. People interested in Owen are likely to be concerned fans and not merely star-obsessed schmoes.

It really is sad and very personal. I admit, I am a sucker for the magazines, etc but this is so beyond that! And as far as selfish or not? It is selfish to those left behind BUT obvioulsy there is a tremendous amount of pain for someone to want to leave this world

As a friend of the Wilson family, i know they would appreciate it if you kept them in your prayers. This is a very hard time for Owen as well as Luke and Andrew

As a sufferer of depression and an anxiety disorder, I can definitely sympathise with Owen. The one thing I hope ANYONE takes away from this is you’re not weak if you do it (attempt or succeed). Unless you have been in the person’s shoes, you just can’t know. I don’t know how HE feels, but I do know there are days I don’t think I can summon the energy for even one more breath. And (much of the last few years but worse since my mom died), living is very difficult and eventually wears on you til you feel that you just can’t go on.

My prayers to Owen and especially his family.

I think the fact that you are reporting on this is absolutely DISGUSTING! It’s one thing when a celebrity requests privacy becuase they don’t want attention placed on their relationships and then go have dinner at The Ivy…. but OMG suicide is SERIOUS!! He may be an actor but he’s a human being too who, if the report is true, felt so desperate and depressed that he thought killing himself was the only way out. Did you ever think maybe he knew he had a problem but didn’t seek help because someone like YOU and YOUR SHOW might find out about it?? It’s hard enough for Mr. Average American to admit he has a problem - I imagine for him that is magnified a thousand fold. And then to have his situation exploited by shows like yours for ratings???

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!

I hope he’s doing well and while I agree he should have his privacy I find it hypocritical that the people commenting here say it’s ‘disgusting’! Then why are you reading the EXTRA (gossip show) webpage! Although I would like to say I am better than that, I’m not. He seems like a happy, fun-loving guy so I’m interested in what happened to him and I do hope he gets the help he needs.

Owen please remember you have a family who loves you and all of your fans love you. I am very sorry journalist went public with this and I know that this is a very private matter for you and anyone else who has been through this. Have faith in yourself please and never be embarressed or ashamed of yourself. Do not let the press upset you over the gossip they will speculate about you. Just let your family support you and love you

Owen is a great actor.. they all indure no privacy at all… Its sad that the media has to dig into his private matters in order to get the ratings. This is the reason they hate being open. He requested privacy and he should be respected and get it. I know that when your at that point it gets hard and sometimes we make the incorrect choice. He has been given the chance to think about things so give him his PRIVACY… he deserves a PRIVATE life.

I agree with everyone except to say I will not be surprised if the said “suicide attempt” is really a drug overdose. Are suicide attempts prosecuted any differently than drug overdoses?

Disgusting “journalism.” A person is entitled to their privacy, especially after issuing a statement politely requesting it. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Well, we know who he won’t be doing interviews with in the future.

On a side note:
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, atleast that’s the story i’ve been told my ENTIRE life.

So, Margie, you’re saying that i’m selfish because of my views on suicide? In most cases I do believe it’s a selfish act. Just because someone didnt want to deal with whatever was going on in their life, along with many other circumstances, doesn’t mean everyone is supposed to be all understanding. I believe it’s ok to say,” You know, they left me here and took the easy way out and i’m mad.”

Owen Wilson asked for you not to get involved and respect his privacy! Just like the government listening in on our phone calls, you go behind Owen’s back to get information that he did not want you to have! Way to go JERKS!!! But I guess that is what’s so great about the United States. Freedom. Freedom to poke your nose in other peoples business and then hide behind the first amendment.
