Police Log Confirms Owen Wilson's Suicide Attempt

"Extra" has obtained the Calls for Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson's house as an "attempted suicide."

The call was received on Sunday, August 26 at 12:08:16 p.m. The incident was "cleared" almost five hours later at 5:07:16pm.

As "Extra" reported yesterday, sources confirmed that Wilson had indeed attempted suicide. His brother Luke found him, and he was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica before he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he is listed in "good condition."

Mr. Wilson would occasionally stop in our shop in Beverly Hills before we sold to another company last year. He was nice enough but had really bad breath. It always smelled like rancid chicken. Obviously, he is not well.

I suppose for his sake it would be good if he could pull his life together and get off the heroin. Suicide is sad when it involves really young people who aren’t yet equipped to deal with life, but Wilson is damn near 40 and has been in the business of fame long enough to know that it’s rough. It would be good for him to recover, but not at all difficult to see him 10 years from now on the Surreal Life with the likes of Brett Butler, Paula Poundstone and Gary Coleman.

John Donne said, “Any man’s death diminishes me…” Attempted death is the same. We’re all in it together and we should try to help each other rather than put ourselves above someone in pain because they happen to have more celebrity. Being famous is not fun.

Oh my god. All of you people don’t even know Owen Wilson. One of my friends actually did commit suicide. Why don’t we talk about that! He is just as pathetic as OW or Mr. Wilson (or whatever you stupid retards living vicariously through a media generated douche-bag) call him now. Go get your own life and quit feeling sorry for him. You probably beat your kids or molest your nieces or nephews, or let your husbands do it. All of the enablers of the world unite, and form one huge ball of hypocrisy and consume us all!

Suicide is tragic. Failed or not.
I find no humor in mental disease or defects.
But Owen Wilson isn’t funny anyway.

To the sad, sad examples of the human race who judge Owen Wilson’s worth solely by his appearance….you are among the most worthless sects of society out there. Miserable, miserable people with nothing better to strive for in life. No appreciation of art, laughter, wit, intelligence, character, talent….all the best humanity can offer. Of course I can see how difficult it would be to appreciate qualities one is void of.

Does anyone know about a site for people to send their well wishes, which may be viewed by those close to Mr. Wilson so they may show him all the lovely things people are saying about him and how much support he has….mine included?

I like Owen Wilson, he is a delightful character. I am concerned for his welfare and wish him the best care and strength to see this through.

Sayward, what is wrong with you? How can a person be so cold and heartless? Attempted suicide/depression is very serious. My prayers go out to you, Owen. I love you a lot! Your movies have brought me out of some serious blues many times. Zoolander has to be my favorite. I can’t count just how many times I have watched that one!
Please get all the help/therapy you need and welcome the support of your family and friends. Before you know it, the sun will be shining on your face again! All of your fans need you to keep us laughing. We love you, Owen.

I, like everyone else here who posted a comment stopped to read the story about his attempted suicide.
I stopped by because as an entertainer he’s brought laughter to my life and made me smile and I would like to confirm he did not succeed in his attempt.
What prompted those who don’t care about him to stop by and post a nasty comment? It’s scary to think some people are just like that.

life is a precious thing, celebrity or not, suicide is a sign of desperation, and i feel bad for owen. I myself think owen is a brilliant actor and comedian, suicide is extremely stupid, but i know God is keeping him on earth for a reason. I can only pray that any pain owen’s going through will pass.

I love you, Owen. And believe it or not, I know what you are going through. I know how bad the pain is. But hang on, ok? You are a great and funny actor, and many people love you. I would be devastated if you died. May you find peace and happiness. I wish you only the best.

I have to agree with ‘On 29 Aug 2007, anonymous wrote’ if not their language. Wait until you know someone who commits or attempts to commit suicide. Then we’ll see who is laughing at suicide.
