Lindsay Lohan: I Am An Addict, and I Am Ashamed

Lindsay Lohan has just issued the following statement to "Extra":

"It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs.

I broke the law, and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case.
- Lindsay Lohan

Recently, I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed. I broke the law, and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case.

No matter what I said when I was under the influence on the day I was arrested, I am not blaming anyone else for my conduct other than myself. I thank God I did not injure others. I easily could have.

I very much want to be healthy and gain control of my life and career and have asked for medical help in doing so. I am taking these steps to improve my life.

Luckily, I am not alone in my daily struggle and I know that people like me have succeeded. Maybe with time it will become easier. I hope so."

everybody deserves a chance, how do we know she is not sincere. I hope she means what she says and straightens her life out. She has issues, hopefully with a good therapist and God by her side she will get through this.

The fault lies not in you but in your insecure family life, it is due to your parents your life has been ruined. Parents are the binding force for the upbringing of the children and if they go wrong then the whole family life including that of kids will be astray. Holding grudge, accusing each other will not solve your problems Be strong in life dont ruin it for someone like your parents.

There’s so many different reasons as to why, what, how, where, when a person gets addicted to anything… Unfortunately in Lindsay’s case, so many factors contributed to her choices. Yet, I believe, we should all be held responsible for our actions and serve time for it. Her lifestyle came from hard-earned-work to a too-pampered lifestyle. Proper discipline was then overshadowed by fame and fortune. Now, she and like “some” top-notch celebrities, have taken advantage of these privileges and have put themselves and the public in danger. Lindsay, you’ve acquired God given talents and you’ve been very good at it up to this point. Don’t let it go to waste! You are not to blame for everything, but the choices you make for yourself can only blamed you! You should focus on putting your status and talents to good use! I applaud for owning up to your addictions, but it’s time you shape up and get proper help to abide by… before it’s too late! I have feel for you now… but if you hurt someone due to these choices and actions, whether by accident or not… I’ll only feel sorry for you and most likely join the millions who will support you no more!

My issue is what good does this comment do if it does not go to the proper people. If I or anybody of a non famous lifestyle were to commit any of the illegal acts that half these stars do we would be put away for ever. So many people scream for equality and I am all for equality but lets pick which standards we are going to base equality on. Do we follow the paths of the stars and comment any and all crimes because we know we will be out of jail in a day or do we follow the normal way of the law and lock these stars up for years. Trust me for most of them thier talents would not be missed. Lindsey, Nicole, Paris and all the many sports figures that have broken the law are getting spanked on the hand and let go. What’s next they go commit murder and get off because the glove does not fit.. The consitution and the laws that were made by the people for the people were not just for the middle and lower class they are for everyone. If they have millions of dollars then the bail should be set accordingly. If I get a DUI the bail is something like $1,000.00 that is hard for me to come up with. If a star gets a DUI then the bail should be $500,000.00 hit them were it hurts then maybe they will stop. If you spank a child on the hand they will get over the little pain and do it again, you cut them off from thier toys and give them a year or so time out they just might pay attention. We are to blame for thier behavior because we as the law providers and punishers of the law have put in a disclaimer that if you are a star and you entertains us we are more likely going to forgive you so you can continue to give us entertainment. Frankly I would be more entertained seeing them sit out a 3 yr sentence then watching them on the big screen living the life.

I belive there is somewhere writng that nobody is above the law, unless of course you are a star. All I know is one time in my life I spent 2 1/2 days in a jail for an outstanding traffic tickets I would hate to see what would happen to a common person as myself if I got a DUI over and over again. But there is always acting class and I can become a star and then not worry about the law. America, land of the free home of the brave and the multimillion dollar starlett that can do what ever she wants and get a way with it. The law is the law, punishable by the courts that are govern by the consitution, criminal law code and supreme court rulings. They apply to the entire United States population regards of gender, ethnic group or religious belief and they should all apply to those that hold a star status after all they are part of the population.

I think Lindsay needs to stop being a spoiled little brat, she needs to grow up and get her act together.I will no longer see any of her future projects.I have kids and i would hate someone is putting innocent lives in danger.Although i wish her the best of luck and hoping she will get clean.

Too bad her statements didn’t come from the heart..they were written and edited by someone else. I believe she is no longer a “marketable star” and will say anything to save face. After all her last movie was a big FLOP! America we need to band together and boycott everything they try to do! It is the only way to get these BRATS out of the public eye and away from our children.

it only shows that celebrity gets all the star treatment that an ordinary citizen doesn’t. what does that say about our government? stop giving rich white celebrity the star treatment. they deserve some time in jail for their actions.

chary, your a mean spirited b***H. Even though i’m not God people, I still believe that, you shouldn’t be ugly just cuz. The girl obviously has issues, And “Everyone knows whats gonna help” is the root of her problem. she has a problem with one person, and when she finally says all she needs to say to that person she’ll be better. This girl is not different from alot of teens girls with similar troubles, we all think we know where it went wrong, but she was there when it did. And that moment is not always in our hands, or under our control. Every person has thoughts and issues they only share with themselves, until you know what those are you cannot begin to understand, someone with troubles such as Lindsay’s. To say shes not sorry is just one persons opinion, maybe she isnt, but one day she will be aware of the mistakes shes made and surely there will be more there than we know about. I say FOO YOU. Leave her alone.

She didn’t take full responsibility for her actions by pleading guilty…she was advised to plead guilty to the lesser charges so she could get away with the felony charges and she is. It worked “famously” pardon the pun!! She may be out of control but she has money to get the right advise and to be protected under “I am a rich and famous star so I don’t pay like the normal everyday person” and look as I get away with it!! They are all ridiculous!!

LINDSAY LOHAN needs A/A 12 Steps with a “HIGHER POWER” to assist her (LINDSAY LOHAN) in quitting drugs and alchohol. That “HIGHER POWER” could be GOD (JESUS CHRIST).

LINDSAY try CHURCH. GOD wants a RELATIONSHIP with everyone now, even the “DEMONS”. Somethings have changed in the resent past (2006). Whithout GOD, there is probably “NO WAY OUT” from a “DRUG ADDICTION”!

I had a “DRUG ADDICTION” that was put on me by “DARKNESS” for over 17 years! I was in HELL literally. Now, I am out of HELL and GOD took me back. Now, I am clean and have been clean from illegal drugs, with NO desire to use more. The desire is the problem. Most of the time, the desire is propetuated by “DARKNESS” to “DESTROY” a person. To beet this said “DESIRE” you NEED GOD! Furthermore, you MUST change the type of friends you “HANG-OUT” with and party—NO MORE PARTIES!

Shes not sorry, shes just sorry she got caught. She should get the book thrown at her///Little miss rich star will get little if any punishment. Regular people do time for less…But not the rich little cute stars…Just more publicity and more rehab…What a joke..

Surrender is the hardest part. Congrats on step one. It does get easier with time…surround yourself with those who are and want you to be sober. Good luck.
