He plays a hunky hero on CBS’s primetime hit “Jericho,” and between takes, Skeet Ulrich is quickly becoming a Hollywood heartthrob.

A few facts you may not have known about this eligible bachelor: the 37-year-old grew up in North Carolina, his uncle is NASCAR great Ricky Rudd and he’s got a secret talent.

“I'm a wicked ping pong player. I don’t think anyone would expect that,” he says.

Skeet got divorced in 2005, but he’s still a hero as father to twins.

And ladies get your standup routines ready because he tells “Extra” that a sense of humor is the sexiest thing in a woman.

“Life is tough. If you can't laugh at it, sometimes it only gets tougher,” he says.

But there’s one thing that doesn’t make Skeet laugh.

“I don't like cocky people,” he insists.

So what turns him on?

“Somebody that can go into an environment and make themselves at home and make people feel good. It's very sexy,” he reveals.

So once he finds Ms. Right, where will he take her for their first date?

“I've been wanting to go to the Griffith Observatory since it reopened. I think that will be really romantic,” says Skeet.

A night under the stars with a star? A romantic date indeed!

Skeet seems like a really nice, down to earth guy. I had never heard of him until “Jericho” and I’d love to see several more seasons of him as Jake. I do wish you’d fix the video. It’s not Skeet.

I would love to have a date with Skeet. He is definitely top of the list of the eligible bachelor in my opinion. I am a 33 year old Georgia single woman if he should be interested.

I enjoyed the interview w/Skeet during the first part of August. I haven’t seen much of his work other than Scream and Jericho. However, I consider myself and fan and was plesantly suprised that he was featured as one of America’s “most eligible” bachelors. However, I am a little disappointed b/c he, like many of the other bachelors featured, aren’t accessable. By “accessible” I don’t mean handing out addresses and phone #s of course but it would be nice if there was some way that fans and/or bachlorettes could communicate w/these guys, especially if they’re truely “eligible bachelors.”

Thank you for the article on Skeet! He is just one great part (albeit a very nice looking one) of the amazing cast of Jericho! It is nice to see the actors getting some interviews and attention in return for all of the hard work they have done. Please consider interviewing some of the other Jericho cast as well. There are many Jericho fans who would love to see interviews with Lennie James, Ashley Scott, Sprague Grayden and others from Jericho! Thank you again for this treasure!

I’m a huge fan of Jericho, and I had no idea who Skeet was before that show. I had seen Scream YEARS before, but I did not recognize Jake Green was the killer in Scream. Skeet looks so different now. More mature and handsome, I think —- and who knew he was such a great actor. The season finale rocked Skeet. I actually cried.

Thank you for the wonderful interview. I have been a Skeet fan for years. Skeet is very sexy but not just because of his looks. To me he is like the guy next door. He is not stuck on himself. He cares about people. He loves his children. He is way better than Brad and don’t get me started on Johnny Depp. I hate it when people compare Skeet with Johnny Depp because there is no comparision. Skeet wins hands down. Skeet is such a versatile actor, no matter what kind of character he plays - he does it well. He is just awesome!!!

This article was truly wonderful. I have always liked the fact that Skeet never talks about himself very much but always talks about his kids and other people. He seem like a very nice person that truly is intelligent. I’m sure I’m not the only one out here that wishes they could be “the one”.

I agree with everyone. Skeet has always been a heart throb with a brain, unlike 90% of the Hollywood pretty boys. And he is actually sexy, not just the phony P.R. packaged kind. And he just adores his kids which is unique in Hollyweird. Skeet is also a tremendous actor and usually shys away from the limelight, so kudos to the interviewer. I have my telescope packed Skeet, I’m ready to observe some stars!

I’m not sure why Hollywood is just now taking notice of Skeet. He’s a very talented actor, incredible person and a devoted father. I’d take him any day over the fluff that comes out of Hollywood these days.
