Lynda Carter Blasts Hollywood's Obsession with Thin

Lynda Carter has had a long and successful career in Hollywood since bursting onto the scene as “Wonder Woman” in the 1970s.

Since then, she’s reached worldwide fame and struggled with the same pressures that every young starlet faces.

Now, at age 55 and still looking young, Lynda is speaking with “Extra” about what it takes to stay healthy – and how Hollywood’s obsession with thin is downright dangerous.

“I'm so sick of seeing these anorexic actresses,” she blasted. “These people are crazy. Any place else in the country besides New York and L.A. and they would be in a hospital.”

Lynda knows all about what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight. She was only in her twenties when she reached instant fame with “Wonder Woman.”

Through it all, she’s maintained a healthy body image and avoided the deadly eating disorders that plague so many young women.

Lynda follows the diet plan in the book "French Women Don’t Get Fat," where no food is off limits. The key is in portion control.

“I’m a chocolate fiend,” she admitted. “I was awful last night, but I’m not going to do it again tonight!”

Allowing herself a few cheat days, Lynda works out with a trainer three times a week. When she’s traveling, she jumps rope to maintain a healthy weight.

As for age, “I fight it every step of the way!” the star admitted.

She also said that while she may work hard with a trainer to maintain her physique, looks can be deceiving.

The humble beauty joked, “You, too, can look great with two hours of hair and makeup.”

Lynda also opened up about what many older actresses are turning to so easily – plastic surgery.

“I think it’s scary,” she said about going under the knife. “I’m half Mexican, and I don’t scar very well. So for me I’m actually terrified to.”

However, the star added, “Not to say I never will.”

As for those rumors that “Wonder Woman” may come to the big screen soon, Lynda has some ideas about who should play the iconic character.

“They need someone 19, an unknown, without celebrity baggage,” she insisted. “I’ll be right in line hollering and clapping. I hope it’s an absolute blockbuster.”

I myself would rather see the reruns of Wonder Woman. Beauty is on the inside. I had a neighbor that was built and looked great but when he spoke it killed his looks. I like the way Lynda always has a smile on her face. If more people was in as good mood as she seems to be the world would be a better place to live. I don’t like stuck ups, people that make fun, or people that think they are better because of money and looks. As for movie stars all I care about is it a good show, they do a good job acting. I would like to know who is married to who, how many children things like that but I don’t beleive they should be hounded for photos like they are.
