Rosie's 'View' Replacement Shocker –- A Man?

Is the next co-host of "The View" going to be a man?

There’s major speculation that Rosie O’Donnell’s replacement could be male – specifically, Mario Cantone and Ross Matthews!

Cantone, who played Charlotte’s friend Anthony on “Sex and the City,” is a frequent guest on the show.

You may know Matthews as “Ross the Intern” from “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.

Both of them are going to be guest co-hosts next month, with Cantone appearing July 12 and Matthews on July 17.

“Barbara’s really fond of Mario,” an insider tells people. “So who knows?”

But Rosie was a big fan of Ross the Intern. Together, they’ve co-hosted video segments on each other’s blogs, and she even gave him her blessing to take over.

“I hope that they give me someone who’s smart and fun and another real beauty!” jokes co-host Joy Behar.

Right now, a “View” spokesperson isn’t making any promises, saying, "No offer has been made to anyone at this point.”

One thing’s for sure – “Evan Almighty” comedienne Wanda Sykes is shooting down the rumor that she wants the gig.

“Right after I shoot myself in the head,” Wanda says plainly. Yikes!

Apparently, Wanda’s “View” experience is one she never wants to relive.

“I co-hosted once, almost like a year ago,” explains Wanda, “and I can still hear them in my head. I wake up in the middle of the night, ‘Can I just say something?’”

Meanwhile “Extra” can confirm Rosie will be making a return to “The View” this summer…in reruns, that is.

We asked if the show plans to re-run Rosie’s famous on-air feuds, but a spokesman for the show shot back, “Feuds? It is unlikely.”

I love the view.I have my coffee every morning with (the girls)I don’t want to see a man on the show. And if Paris Hilton is considered for a co-host, I would like to audition for that part too!! I am a talker,I have opinions ,and I am funny.

PLEASE TAKE ROSIE O. OFF TV COMPLETELY, SOMEONE AS NASTY AS SHE IS SHOULD BE IN A SCHOOL WHERE THEY TEACH YOU MANNERS AND HOW TO BECOME A LADY. I DO NOT WATCH ANYTHING THAT HAS ROSIE ON THE SHOW. SAME GOES FOR ELLEN. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE STAR JONES BACK ON THE VIEW AND I WOULD BE A FAITHFUL WATCHER OF THE VIEW AGAIN.

I would love to see “Ross The Intern” host The View, he is hilariously funny. My second choice is Kathy Griffin, she makes those outrage remarks that embarrass Barbara and I love it !

Ross Matthews would be a WONDERFUL replacement. He’s funny, caring and smart. I’d tune in again if he were a host. I stopped watching once Rosie left.

A male-female mix will bring a new & unique dimension to the show. My suggestions for new co-hosts are: Wayne Brady & Jane Pauley. Each had a terrific show of his/her own in past.

Instead of Rosie, Elizabeth should have been let go. Since Rosie’s departure, the show is harder to watch because Eliz. has become increasingly intolerable. She shouts too much and interrupts others often, especially Joy (whom I enjoy the most, beside Barbara).

Yes, it is time for a man to be on the view. No one can replace Rosie, and I have not watched the show since she left. I do think the person should be a Gay or Lesbian to make the show worth watching. Barabra is boring, and Elizabeth is a moron. Joy is cool.

I think my sister Pam should be the new host of The View. She has so much enthusiasm that she can be irritating at times. I am an introvert and she is truly and extrovert. She has so much energy for life that it should be bottled. And she always has something to say, there is never a dull moment with my 49 year old sister Pam.

How could Bob Barker possibly recommend that foul mouthed pig Rosie O’Donnell as his replacement? Rosie is a national disgrace. I think Bob must have Alzheimer’s to even suggest Rosie. She should be blacklisted and barred from television. I agree with her savaging of Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who is a brainwashed Bush-loving piece of excrement. But that’s the only thing Rosie’s ever done that I admire her for. Otherwise she’s the most repulsive blowhard on television.

I never thought about a man hosting the view? Hmmm what a great idea!! I love Ross, he is so sweet and kind..he would be PERFECT.. I like Mario as well its just that his personality is very much high energy and I think it would wear us (the viewers) out on a daily basis so I vote for Ross!!! Ross has a heart of gold and would bring such love, peace and kindness to the show without making it boring, he is extremely likable I know I like him. Cami Smith

I have watched the Price is Right for years as did my Mother & her friends after she had to go into a nursing home. Bob Barker seem to have integrity & morals, and won the hearts of many viewers. If Rosie host the show I and many of my Mother’s friends (she has now passed away) all claim we will not watch it any more. Please do not put Rosie to host an excellent TV show for families and views of all ages. Rosie has not shown integrity or moral values in any of her shows.
