Isaiah Washington: 'I'm Saddened by the Outcome'

Isaiah Washington is speaking out for the first time about being fired from “Grey’s Anatomy.”

"I did everything that the producers and the network asked me to do,” Isaiah insisted. “I came back under great duress and stress, and thought I was doing the job I was hired to do."

The actor received a phone call last week from the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, saying he would not be invited back because of his past behavior.

He issued a cryptic statement, saying, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

The star caused a media uproar last fall after he was accused of using a homophobic slur against fellow “Grey’s” star T.R. Knight.

Washington later apologized and entered anger counseling.

He is now working on the thriller, “The Least of These,” and he said he isn't thinking about whether the firing will affect his career.

"I can only apologize so many times," he said. "I can only accept so much responsibility.”

I think his firing was because of the other actors were not supporting of him if they all would have tken a stand maybe he would have been saved. And also Isaiah didn’t never say in public that TR was a faggot but that he didn’t call him one at the gloden globes so for them to attack him was just a poor judgement

Lillie from June 13th What Washington called TR Knight was a “FAGOT” he didn’t just refer to him as being gay.How would he feel if someone on the show called him a “NIG…” I really think they’d be off the show a lot sooner than Washington. If you are not gay how do you know that it’s a choice?I’m not gay so I don’t know what it feels like to be gay just as you couldn’t see yourself with someone of the same sex he can’t see himself with someone of the opposite sex. Since when do you have the right to judge someone?

Michael Richards can only apologize so many times too. But we do not see him on TV at all anymore.

We can try to police the world, and control all thoughts through the thought police, while continuing to instate enough political correntness to the point where we are not allowed to even see the good differences between people and nothing will be for the better.

We cannot continue to excuse the behavior and feel sorry for a person because of thier race, sex, or religion, while we want to condemn another based upon thier race, sex or religion.

I see it over and over again and it never ceases to amaze me the blatant hypocrisy.

what i don’t understand is that the guy
came out and said that hes gay being gay is a choice he was not called any thing that he wasn’t it’s not like he made a racist remark people that choose to be gay should expect whatever this world is sometimes cruel but you get over it i hope and know god will give
isiah something greater god dosen’t approve of anybody being gay rich or poorer
black or white and yes god loves everybody but he doesn’t love sin

I think everyone should just forgive and forget. The show will not be the same without him. He did everything they asked him to do, and he seemed quite sincere with his apology.

This situation reminds me of a co-worker I use to work with…He was one of thee best employee are company ever had working for them..there was just this one HUGE problem! You never knew when he was going to fly off the handle..We truly became frightened to work with him. Due to the potential threat of violence and law suits are company HAD to let him go..I have watched Isaiah Washington on a few interviews where he was just on the verge of losing his temper over some silly questions..so I can only imagine what it was like to work with him. Its really too bad he is a fantastic actor and I wish him the best. Cami Smith
