After years of bitter feuding, Angelina Jolie may be ready to mend her relationship with her estranged father, Jon Voight.

She told London’s Evening Standard, "I am hoping my relationship with my father will be more private in future."

That’s a big step for the 32-year-old actress. She’s been very public about her resentment against him for cheating on her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.

The big blowup came when Voight said in a 2002 interview that Angelina needed to "get help" for "serious mental problems."

But after building a great relationship with partner Brad Pitt’s parents, and experiencing the joys of being a parent herself, Angelina could be looking for the same with Voight.

"At the end of the day we both wish the best for each other and we'll try to start communicating in some way," she said.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN A BIG FAN OF ANGELINA JOLIE. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT HER THAT IS FAKE AND NOT AUTHENTIC. I DO NOT FEEL SHE IS REAL. THIS BUSINESS OF HER FORGIVING DAD FOR CHEATING ON HER MOM! PPLEASE!!!! IS SHE NOT GUILTY OF THE SAME THING WITH BRAD? IS SHE NOT THE ONE WHO BROKE UP THE MARRIAGE BETWEEN BRAD AND JEN???? It is more than the cheating thing. He bailed on Aj and her brother when he left her mom for another woman, then was a deadbeat Dad who jumped in and out of their lives when and if it suited him, he pulled them out like an accessory for red carpet events then would disappear, tell them he was their best frined then ditch them, only to magically appear attached to her side once her fame kicked in.

He then wanted to be a part of every desicion she made, even going with her to interviews(weird). The marriage to BBt cramped his style, he lost control of her.

Then she adopted Maddox and he spilled the beans to the press when they wanted to keep it quiet for awhile to bond with Maddox.

Then when she admited in an interview that in the past she had a cutting and drug problem, he freaked out at the revelation (first time he had heard of it) and then ran to the media and spilled his guts to anyone who would stand still long enough that she needed help, which could have threatened her recent adoption of Maddox.

That is also a huge problem, Voight cannot keep his mouth shut. She cannot trust him. He immed runs to anones with a camera to tell personal and private information to keep himself relevant.

She stated that she loved him, but now that she was a mother she didn’t need that negative influence in her life and wished him the best.

Now she is saying I will talk to you but at a distance.. still keeping him at arms length, but he will screw it up.

Well Talia, are’nt you brilliant. Looks
like Kelly was right u cant think for ur
self. Otherwise it would have crossed ur
mind that she meant Smith & not Jones an
easy mistake (u know by accident) come
on think outside the box we know you can

Jackie, Kelly whatever you are calling yourself these days you really need to calm down.
First and foremost nobody wants to read your 12 page essay. A rant of that magnitude wasn’t necessary.
To be honest, I stopped reading after line 6, where you seemed so eager to prove to all of us once again that you know EXACTLY what precipitated Brad and Jen’s divorce that you thought Brad and Angelina were filming ‘Mr. and Mrs. Jones’. LOL. I dunno, try Mr. and Mrs. Smith perhaps. Honey, case closed - you have no idea what your talking about.
Besides, why are you so emotionally invested in the Brad, Angelina, Jen saga? Did the end of their marriage affect you personally? LOL.

& Jackie could enlighten your naive,
gullible self. It doesn’t take a rocket
scientist to see what happened. He was
very much married to Aniston while having an affair with AJ while filming
Mr. & Mrs Jones. I have followed Pitts
career since the beginning. But never
will again. Have you not seen Anistons
interviews where she talks about how she
wasn’t moving fast enough to have kids
for Pitt, she even said crying that she
wanted kids & planned on it. After leaving friends she had a couple movies
she made committments to & had to do that first then wanted to have kids. But
that wasn’t good enough for poor Brad.
Reporters that hide & sneak photos caught them so many times when they were
unaware holding hands, being intimate,
while filming that movie & while he was
married to Jen. But, leave it to another
weak woman to take the mans side instead
standing up for the woman who did not
deserve to be hurt like that. & did you
also know he got her pregnant before
completely separating from Jen & didn’t
have the decency to tell her so she would’nt hear it in the news. So guess
who told her ? Pitts brother & family
told her so she would’nt learn from the press. This info. is not from tabloids & mags it came from there own
mouths (pitts family) whom are still close to Jen. & apparently you are the
one who needs to be enlightened. I whole
heartedly agree with Sue & Jackie about
her trying to improve her terrible image
& now his image by the adopting & the
other stuff shes done trying to make herself look good in publics eye. The

She was not angry with because he cheated on her mom. That happened long before she can even remember. her parents separated when she was not even a year old. The reason that she decided to terminate her relationship with him was a result of a letter that he sent her shortly after the first tomb raider movie. She never really specified what he wrote in that letter, but she made it very clear that she did not wnat him in her life because she felt that their relationship was destructive to her as a person and she felt that she needed at that time to be strong for her son, whom she had recently adopted.

I can’t believe how hateful some of these posts are. Do you people wake up everyday with the intention of bashing people? Is that your main purpose in life? LOL. Suggestion..perhaps it would be wise to find a new hobby.
Nobody knows exactly what happened between Angelina, Brad and Jen (only they do), but I swear from the sounds of it, perhaps Sue and Jackie can enlighten all of us, because apparently they have the inside scoop. They seem to know exactly what went down almost 3 years ago! Three years ago, holy jesus… Get Over It! Everyone is trying to move on, so should you!

The media and the press said that AJ and an affair with Brad, so that MUST be true. Both Brad and AJ confirmed that they were not together while Brad was married, but did bond very fast. NO AFFAIR HAPPENED!!!
I don’t think Angelina will ever be able to do or say anything to please you people. If you don’t like her, that’s up to you, but do it on facts.

I don’t get her. She fueds with her father because of an affair….yet she in turn broke up 2 relationships (Aniston’s and Dern’s). This woman is a joke! I truly also believe that the reason she is adopting and playing the family role is to upgrade her image which isn’t working. Most woman have a rule of thumb about dating…married men or men who are involved with someone are a big NO! NO!

Oh my god, what a hypocrite. Feuding with her father due to an affair he had
on her mother. Maybe she does need serious help. Because if thats the case
she should have a serious issue with Brad Pitt considering she had an affair
with Pitt while he was a married man to
Aniston. I used to be a huge Pitt fan but after what he did to Aniston i can’t
stand him & no one i know can stand him
either now. And we will never see another Pitt movie period due to it.
Especially when i remember interviews
way back where he said he would not let
hollywood change his midwestern morals &
values & that he was midwestern to the
marrow (bone) those were his exact words
I still have that interview. Miss fat lips that consume her entire face did
exactly what she is feuding with her father over. Unbelievable. I don’t care
how many kids she adopts, doesn’t take
away what she has done to another women.
She has always had a very bad reputation
as a person, so i wouldn’t be afraid to
bet the adopting etc. is to help make her appear to be a wonderful person so
she’ll be taken more seriously in hollywood & the audience. Trying to get
reputation back. There is absolutely no
excuse for her or any woman to do that to another women. Just goes to show what
kind of person she is. A hypocrite like
i said at beginning of this comment, for
feuding with father for the affair he had. My father had an affair on my mom &
shortly after my mom was murdered & yes
i was angry & sometimes still to this day, but i did not feud with my father.
Regardless he is still my father & i love him. Not happy about what he did to
my mother (affair) but love him none the
less. Aniston is tender hearted, sweet,
loving etc. & all you have to do is watch miss blow fish in an interview &
you can tell she’s a smartass major bitch. I believe one day in the future if not already regardless of what he says that he will be very sorry for having left Aniston for AJ.

I really don’t know the whole story on AJ & her father Jon Voight. But, if it is just because he had cheated on her mother. AJ needs some growing up to do. I know it’s wrong, for what Jon had done, but please there’s alot worst. I hope they can reconcile for their child’s sake. Every child should be able to know, all of their grandparents.

What AJ wont do for good publicity right now. She is playing the papparazzi and media like a violin! Amazing how a month ago she would not reconcile, now all of a sudden she wants to! Amazing how that paper for the media to sign all became her attorney’s fault when AJ always claimed she runs her own career and makes her own decisions. What attorney in his right mind would put out a form like that without his clients knowing about it. Makes no sense.
