Don't worry "Idol" fans, Simon Cowell isn't retiring any time soon. In fact, he told "Extra," "I think I'd rather drop dead than retire. At least it's quick."
But should Judge Dread choose to say goodbye to "American Idol," he would pick Donald Trump as his replacement.

simon, paula and randy are american idol. the show would not be the same without simon.
While Simon could never really be replaced—either in our hearts or on the judging panel—I do actually know someone who could do Simon’s job in a manner that would please him. His name is David Musselman, and he’s been in the music business—both as a performer and an agent since the 1970s. He would also be able to provide the show with a bonifide catch phrase: “You’re whipped!!!”

there is no way that anybody could EVER replace simon, he is the one and only simon “cow” that could ever be, and he is perfect for what he has to do…if simon leaves american idol then it just wouldn’t be really a show anymore, because it just wouldn’t be the same because of everything…how simon argues with ryan and is constantly flirting with paula and they all are really what makes the show how it is; i wouldn’t dream of ever replacing him for anything!!!

show.Everyone waits always to hear what Simon has to say. IF they cannot get passed Simon they will be failures usually.Tough business. Few make it.You either have it or you don’t.Listen to what you are told by the judges and follow their advice. Simon has the knowledge and expertise to find the talent and he is good. HEwould not listen to me sing and I would not disgrace myself by performing.If Simon goes, so goes the show.

I wouldn’t watch American Idol if Donald Trump was a judge… NO WAY! NO, NO, NO, PLEASE AND THANK YOU! Simon is synonymous with the Dawg and Paula… he cannot retire! The viewers won’t let him go, but he feels he absolutely nust, his replacement better be someone we can LOOK at (how about MARIO LOPEZ, or a former Idol like CLAY AIKEN for a couple of suggestions?!?)!!!
The sad fact is, nobody can replace Simon. As soon as he’s gone from the show, the show will die. I’m not saying that as a diehard fan of his, I’m saying it as a fact. Half of the people who tune in to Idol tune in just to hear what he’s going to say next. Lose him, and you lose that audience. So, when he decides to quit, that’s the day when Idol will go off the air.
