Things Turn Personal for Rosie and Elisabeth

A major fight erupted at “The View” Wednesday morning, and this time, things got personal.

Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck began screaming at each other, out-shadowing the other hosts. It got so heated that at one point, Joy Behar asked, “Who is directing this show? Commercial!”

It all began when the topic turned to Iraq – a major issue for liberal Rosie and conservative Elisabeth.

Rosie was furious because she believes Elisabeth didn’t defend her over suggestions that Rosie had called U.S. troops "terrorists" during a previous debate - and Rosie called her a coward!

“I asked you if you believed what the Republican pundits were saying, and you said nothing! And that’s cowardly,” Rosie said.

Elisabeth fought back, saying, “Do not call me a coward!”

The screamfest left fellow hosts with mouths open as they pleaded with Rosie and Elisabeth to calm down.

Elisabeth insisted, “I don’t understand why it’s my fault if people spin words that you put out there…. Defend your own insinuations!”

Rosie shot back, “Right, but every time I defend them, it’s ‘poor little Elisabeth’ that I’m picking on.”

Then, Elisabeth threw a verbal punch in there – by bringing up Donald Trump.

“It’s much easier to fight someone like Donald Trump, isn’t it? Because he’s obnoxious,” Elisabeth shouted.

It looks like Rosie, who leaves “The View” in three weeks, won’t be saying goodbye without a fight!

But can their friendship survive this heated fight? And will their kids continue to play together?

Elisabeth told us, “I hope so. I think they will. We’ve actually been able to foster a great friendship this year, and it’s so unexpected.”

Elizabeth threw a verbal punch?!!!

Elizabeth is the one throwing “verbal punches” not Rosie?!! Are you kidding me?

This article has the typical left bias.

In think Rosie was upset that ABC/The View would not meet her terms and demands in her contract. She wanted an early out at Elizabeth’s expense. She would never try that on Barbara, her boss, or Joy, someone who always could either put her in her place or back down. I think Rosie was greatly surprised that Elizabeth did not back down and stood up to her - Rosie seized the moment and used it to again make herself look good and Elizabeth look bad. I am hopeing that the public can see into her game. I think Elizabeth took enough from Rosie and I am glad she reacted as she did!

I don’t know anyone like that. If I did, yes, they would be a “puppet” too.

I do not agree with everything Rosie said(says) nor do I disagree with everything Elisabeth Said (says).

I watch ALL the news stations and read several papers. I do not care for bias in the media, no matter who is speaking or writing it.

Rosie may be contreversial, stubborn, crude, and loud mouthed but at least she is passionate about what she stands for.

Elsabeth is a hypocrite and a phony; disturbing on too many levels.

yes that is an individual opinion. Just because she watches fox news and voted for President Bush doesn’t mean she is a puppet of their. What do you say to the people who watch Cnn or MSNBC, Abc news, NBC news, CBS. or go on the far left websites and say what they said word for word . You don’t call them puppet now do you ??

Allow me to write this with a tad more explaination as it is obviously needed… An individual opinion does is not equivalant to continual regurgitation of the following:

1.Fox New coverage

2.Opinions of Bill O’ Reilly

3.Bush Administration propoganda

4.Already known/published/proven facts

An opinion is/should be based on something a person feels stongly about, not just choose a side because that is what their “party, partner, friends, family, church or dog thinks.

Elisabeth has proven to be nothing but a “hand puppet” for anyone and anything on “the right side.”

You tell me…is that an “individual opinion?”

You just said individual opinions . Elizabeth is aloud to have her own opinion. Just like Joy, Barbara, and who every else is on the show. Last time i check everyone expect Elizabeth has a liberal opinion!

Very well said Rick! “The View” is supposed to be the individual opinions of stong minded woman.

I do not enjoy a show that includes a “hand puppet” for the Bush administration, Fox News, and Bill O’Reilly etc.

First, Her opinions are straight from fox news, and everyone with 1/2 a brain knows what that channel is, enough said. Her talking points are skewed and like all good republicans she wishes to spread the news about the bull**** issue of liberal news media coined by faux. She like the average republican dirt ball and her views are often very skewed, to the point of lying. The view better be very careful unless they seek the reputation of fox news.

O say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen thro’ the mist of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream
’Tis the star-spangled banner. Oh! long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation,
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our Trust”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Jealous…HMMMM, well let’s think about that.

Deeply insightful…NOT! Talk about shallow: I have stepped in deeper puddles! She is not “jealous” of Elisabeth. Rosie, like the majority of the country (like her or not) is capable for seing Elisabeth for what she really is…

A shallow, materialistic, brain-washed goody two shoes teachers pet who is incapable of holding a thought or having a belief that she did not pull off the news, learn at the country club, or have her husband write down on the back of her hand.

As far as your comment is concerned, an ex-cheerleader sorority girl or under the age of 21 I am assuming?????

Rosie is a bully! She has bullied Elisabeth from the first day she started on The View. The View is ruined with Rosie on it. She has always been jealous of Elisabeth thats why she constantly belittles her. I am soooo glad Elisabeth stood up for herself! Its been a build up for her and she finally had enough!

Way to go “Ready and Packed”, “Linda”, “KP”, “Darey Farrows”, “Chelsie Williams”, “Ben” and many others. Your comments were sensational. To “Darey Farrows”: your comments probably weren’t taken off. Look on the home page and you’ll see there are at least four (4) places to comment on Rosie and Elisabeth. Just remember the total comments when you leave the site (and/or title), as it will help you remember where you put them. Hope that helps!

And I agree w/everyone who said the show was better with Meredith and Star! Both women are LADIES. Meredith had the leadership skills needed to keep the show in line while still entertaining. And if you really listened to Star, she always made fair, intelligent and non-crude comments. I vote for Meredith, Star, Elisabeth and Barbara as a team. They were great.

Lastly…. the WAR! I’m so sick of listening to everyone I’m ready to vomit. Remember 911? Yes you do. But…. do you remember that when Bush declared war on Iraq for terrorism, he stated that in no terms would this be a short war, that it probably would last many years. Guess nobody listened to that. I really don’t care if you’re democrat because you’re entitled, but I personally believe Bush is getting “dogged” because he made more TOUGH decisions than the last handful of President’s have ever made. And He also had to clean up his predecessor’s mess. That takes years.

As others have said, don’t comment unless you know the facts. And lets try to be kinder as a nation to one another and “agree to disagree”.

And please don’t embarrass us by talking negative to other countries like the Dixie Chicks did. That was the most immature thing they could have ever done. I stopped listening to them after that and didn’t hear them in the media or on radio as well. TRY to respect our nation and PRESIDENT! We’re never going to have our “chosen” president elected into office our entire lives.

However, even though I’m strongly against name-calling and bullying, I laughed OUT LOUD at so many comments, it was rather entertaining.

Thanks for listening.

I’m hoping that since Rosie is off the show that it will be more relaxing to watch. I love Rosie and Elizabeth both, but it was getting way out of hand, mostly due to Rosie. She just doesn’t know when to stop once she gets on a roll. I applaud Elizabeth for standing up to her. Rosie never DID defend what she said on the earlier show, which is all Elizabeth wanted her to do. Rosie didn’t explain herself because she did in fact say our troups were the terrorists. I know that isn’t what she meant because she supports our troups and wants them home, but she should have taken the opportunity to explain what she meant and Elizabeth was giving her the opportunity to do so. Rosie chose to fight instead! As much as I like Rosie, I don’t miss her on the show at all. I wish her well and I know she’ll do just fine. If she gets another show, I’m sure I’ll watch it because she definitely spices things up!!!!

To “start thinkinfor yourself”

YES! Great Idea! We should all become inandated by the news in an effort to start thinking for ourselves; that IS the answer, and FOX News is our genie.

You got here just in time! CAN I GET A “O” for OXYMORON!

The media has been marketing this war since day uno (that is one in spanish).

Since you are such a staunch supporter, do tell; how many family members and friends do you have currently enlisted?
