Rosie: Why I Quit 'The View'

Life without Rosie O’Donnell began on “The View” Tuesday morning as the ladies said their public goodbyes to their former co-host.

It was the first show without Rosie since the explosive spat with Elisabeth Hasselbeck that led to Rosie calling Elisabeth “a coward.”

In Rosie’s place was guest host Whoopi Goldberg, and the women wasted no time getting right to the heart of the matter.

Barbara Walters looked at the camera and stated, “We are very close friends. Rosie, if you’re watching, nothing will change that.”

While “The View” went on, Rosie spent the weekend boating with her family.

And now “Extra” can reveal the exact reason Rosie said goodbye.

Rosie wrote on her web blog, “When I saw the split screen, that’s when I knew it was over.”

It was the moment that spelled the end for Rosie, when “The View” showed the two pointing fingers and yelling, side-by-side.

Rosie went on to reveal on her blog that she felt like “a foster kid for a year.” She wrote, “I came and we considered adoption but I didn’t really fit into the family.”

Also, believe it or not, Rosie said she sent a note to Elisabeth!

On the show Tuesday morning, Elisabeth said, “I think this weekend gave us the opportunity to tackle our most important hot topic yet, and that was the power of forgiveness.”

Forgive and forget is one thing arch-nemesis Donald Trump just can’t seem to do.

Donald gave “Extra” his own piece of mind on Rosie’s exit, explaining, “The reason she quit was that she couldn’t take the heat.”

He’s even taking full credit for her decision!

“I was the one that started Rosie's downfall, and I'm very proud of that because I exposed Rosie for what she is,” Trump told us. “She's a very self-destructive person, not a very bright person, and ultimately she's a loser.”

So what’s next for the embattled comedian?

Rosie said she may spend some time on tour with Cyndi Lauper.

As for “The View,” Barbara Walters wants everyone to know Rosie is missed.

“She’s welcome back anytime she wants,” Barbara said on the show.

Rosie brought ONE MILLION new viewers to daytime television. That is a FACT and it is indisputable.

The ratings have PLUMMETED since her departure.

As far as Donald, he continually uses their “feud” for publicity. If it were not for her, NO ONE would care what he had to say.

Doanld, SIT AND SPIN!

It’s one thing to have you opinion, it’s another to assume everyone that doesn’t agree with you is a jerk.

Rosie didn’t quit the View, they quit her because they were getting too much feed back that agreed with the “DONALD”.

Rosie has been and always will be “my way or the highway”. The best thing in the world would be if the media would quit giving her press - give it to our troops (my son included) whether you agree with Iraq or not - they are OUR troops.l

Why want Rosie just go away. She is worse than a rusty ole nasty penny, she want go away. If she host the Price is Right, they might as well go ahead and flush the toilet. Every shoe that thing has been on, she has tried to run it in the ground. She could not even host her on show, ans she thinks for one second she can do a famos show such as this. Send her to an all women prison and let her host the bathroom showers, she will make it big there. There are reports there are lots of gays there wanting her. ROSIIE GO AWAY!!!!!

the view soured me with having Star Jones on there from the beginning. I really thought Rosie was a breath of fresh air. Coming from a standpoint of her already being an outsider because of her lifestyle I think she did justice. EH sits back with her knowing the ‘right’ friends and whatever and tries to make an opinion. She personifies “dumb blonde”. I wondered if she would be just as open if she had a brother or sister, dad or another close relative lose their lives so she can just sit and be stupid. Step up to the plate Elisabeth, why don’t you enlist and then you can get first hand experience of how ‘good and right’ the war is. I wish you happiness Rosie and glad you are away from that skinny biggot.

It would improve if their were not insurgants blowing up market places, electrical power plants, oil pipelines and innocence citizens.

Yes, Sadaam was terrible. He is gone and we are there.

Oh, how their lives have improved.

Although I personally support Elisabeth’s opinions, I think that Rosie did leave with some class if she did in fact send a letter to Elisabeth about forgiveness. I’m not going to sit here and pretend that anyone is going to change their minds if I share my Republican oppinions because I know that nobody cares. At first I thought I lost all respect for Rosie, but after reading this article, I give her props. The fight is really not that big of a deal…just a heated debate if you ask me.

I am also very proud of Elisabeth for standing up for her oppinions, and I think that anyone who says she is stupid as I have seen many people say, just doesn’t agree with Republican opinions. Which is fine, theres two major political party’s in this country so I don’t expect everyone to agree with her. But, please don’t call Elisabeth stupid or a coward or whatever.

Anyways…Amen Elisabeth…keep speaking up for the republican/conservatives out there.

Looks like they were living in “A True Bliss” lifestyle.

Saddam Hussein
Kill tally: About two million, including between 150,000 and 340,000 Iraqi and between 450,000 and 730,000 Iranian combatants killed during the Iran-Iraq War. An estimated 1,000 Kuwaiti nationals killed following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. No conclusive figures for the number of Iraqis killed during the Gulf War, with estimates varying from as few as 1,500 to as many as 200,000. Over 100,000 Kurds killed or “disappeared”. No reliable figures for the number of Iraqi dissidents and Shia Muslims killed during Hussein’s reign, though estimates put the figure between 60,000 and 150,000. (Mass graves discovered following the US occupation of Iraq in 2003 suggest that the total combined figure for Kurds, Shias and dissidents killed could be as high as 300,000). Approximately 500,000 Iraqi children dead because of international trade sanctions introduced following the Gulf War.

Often, the Fedayeen Saddam, a paramilitary group headed by Mr. Hussein’s oldest son, 38-year-old Uday, carried out executions. These men, masked and clad in black, make the women kneel in busy city squares, along crowded sidewalks, or in neighborhood plots, then behead them with swords. The families of some victims have claimed they were innocent of any crime save that of criticizing Mr. Hussein

Bill Clinton, former President of the United States, noted the following in a March 5, 1999 letter to House Speaker Dennis Hastert and President Pro Tempore of the Senate Strom Thurmond, as reported in USA Today:

“The human rights situation throughout Iraq continues to be a cause for grave concern. The Iraqi army had stepped up repressive operations against the (ethnic) Shia in the south. In the north, outside the Kurdish controlled areas, the government continues the forced expulsion of ethnic Kurds and Turkomen from Kirkuk and other cities.”

Rosie has done more for our troops than any of you!

She pointed at a fact, that is all! We invaded a Sovreign Nation.

All she was saying was IF we were THEM and WE woke up one day and OUR country had been invaded and OUR lives turned upside down, OUR leader, OUR way of life, EVERYTHING we know, EVERYTHING that makes us feel safe…GONE!

We don’t know why because we don’t know any better. But, EVERYDAY, we pass people with guns and 655,000 people are dead.

That is ALL she was saying. She was pointing out how they must feel about us. Would you want your two year old walking down the street there?

Come on people, has the media taken away our ability to think?

Anonymous 1. 2. 3.

What your own government is doing to you is not the least of your worries dumb ass! If you’re not on prescription drugs, you will be and the fact that everybody around you is getting sick with cancer and other diseases at an all time high than ever before in history is a “major” problem fool.
Your family members or maybe even yourself will get sick while you sit there debating about lame ass Rosie.
You are being poisoned on purpose everyday so you can develop disease and be on medication for the rest of your life. “Purposely” these chemicals are being put into your foods and products…..fool.
If that is not a big issue to you then you truly are an idiot!

America needs to WAKE UP!! And, for those in denial and want to say that if you are against the war in Iraq then you are against our troops are ignorant. We all have our own opinions and it is appearant that even at the cost of our troops killing innocent civilians in other countries still won’t wake us up … then ignorance will prevail in those that believe it is right. ASK YOURSELF “Why Iraq?” Terrorists live in many, many other countries, including ours. And, they do not want our American troops there. Iraq does have their problems as many other countries do & as we do … we have our own corruption, proverty, outlaws and illnesses her in the U.S. to take care of first. Iraq is a weaker country … and taking over it turned out to be much more difficult than Bush planned & our American Troops are paying for that mistake with their young lives!! Let us not forget, Bush claimed out loud they weapons of mass destruction … NOT! And, then came up with excuse after excuse asto why we invaded. Any American that can justify that is in denail of truth & justice. What country next are we going after … as the entire world now despises more than ever & hatred grows towards us for our arrogance and self-rightous ways. We must take responsibilty and look at how other countries view us. America must wake up!! And, if someone like Rosie shakes things up … good! We need more people like her shaking America up to reality. (period)

AnonymousJune1,2007@3.38 am- God Bless you . Thank you for saying it. These people on here must have there head in the sand. If you don’t think our troops are doing great things for iraq and afganistan.
It is easier for Celebrities to open there mouths and say what they want because they have a microphone in hand. I just get so sick of hearing them. I know people say turn them off but it is hard to do so when they are everywhere. Even on the nightly news. Listen I don’t care how Celebrities vote but please quit trying to tell me how to vote. Vote on Election day. We already know that Celebrity backing Equals defeat in the Elections. Because people don’t care how Celebrites vote.

I used to LOVE Rosie, but she has gotten out of hand lately (maybe it’s menopause), but she seems to attack anyone that does not see things the same way as she does. The troops are fighting for her right to be so pig headed & opinionated, but they are also fighting for other people to voice their opinions too. She needs to be more tolerant of the other persons point of view. She is getting very good at causing chaos & then walking away like the innocent, injured party. Rosie, don’t make me agree with the Donald! You & he hate each other because you are just alike!

1. i hated this show since meredith left, but i still watched to see them talk. im glad rosie came on to add more important issue talks into the show. elisabeth has always been constantly proving herself to be more and more ignorant and it drives me insane!

2. despite rosie’s bad looks she is very open minded on politics and she is not on the extreme curve of her beliefs. those who claimed rosie looks like a ‘fat whatever’, did you even listen to what they were talking about?

3. those complaining about other things, now you are just going off the subject of their fight. chemicals, oil, and bush is not needed to be brought up. basically chemicals are in almost all of our foods, sulfate is one of the most common founded ones. oil is important otherwise we wouldnt be suffering with our wallets. bush is just an idiot as much as elisabeth.

Just look at the picture of Rosie…

That is one big fat ugly disgusting pig… Yuck

That fat pig quit the view because she could never support her outrageous statements. She called our troops terrorists and then does what she does best - run and hide.

Fat, ugly, dumb and a rotten personality to boot. She sure hit the super-fecta of being a waste of flesh (to be exact, A LOT of flesh)!!!

Now the world is seeing this witch for what she is, a dumb fat ugly pig who has no clue.

Folks, she’s no genius, she’s an obnoxious high school graduate with a big mouth.

Good riddance you big fat slob!!!

Rosie and Fan Club…
If you lived in Iraq, you would be praying to see one our troop’s. They are trying to to bring peace to a country that has lived in pure terror for years. We only engage with people who are shooting at us. Our troops protect innocence people as well. Rosie, you and fan cub would not last 1 week living there. Our troops are trying to do good things and help change the system so the quality of life will be better by giving the people the voice for the first time. I am not sure if you remember but they were under a dictator rule before. These people lived in hell. Everyone thinks it is all about oil. This is not true. There are five other country’s that will get the oil contracts before us. The oil profits will go to the people instead of one family or one group of people. Iraq has sand and oil. Oil is their major resource. A country needs something to make an economy. The worse thing we can do for our troops is creating a environment of controversy at home. Sedam would have people beheaded for making comment’s and showing lack of support towards the government. There would not be no show “The View”. The only view would be your feet as your head is cut off. These people don’t want to live in that fear again. We are helping them to have a country govern by the people. There needs to be more press on the good things our troops are accomplishing. Your discussion made it seem like all this is a shootout and we are killing people for our own personal gain. This is not true. Being a Media Figure spokesperson such as yourself, you should have been more responsible and show respect to discuss a issue so sensitive to viewer’s. We need to support our troop’s. These men and women are willing to give everything to change things for the better for many. They are not selfish or looking for attention. They do not have million dollar contracts like yourself. They don’t hand out gifts at show’s. They doing a job only a few would do. Our troops believe in what they are doing so why can’t we support them in any possible way. They did not enlist to be in a popularity contest or to be in a fan club, but to protect freedom for us and many threw out the world. These are my hero’s not a T.V. show host stirring up unnecessary crap.

Why is it that those that don’t agree with Rosie’s point of view, call her awful names?? Why not Elizabeth or anyone else on the view? Is that your only defense? And, for those who are ignorant enough to not understand that she never called our U.S. Troops terrorists rather suggesting to “wake up” and realize how the iraqi citizens view our troops as their terrorists because we have invaded their country.

Regardless if its Rosie speaking or another American … truth is truth & we “America” have terrorified a weaker country for our own political gains. As our President & Republican party “dance” around with excuse after excuse with no real leg to stand on for entering that country, where we are clearly not wanted. It’s the OIL STUPID!!!!!!!!!

Next?
