Jessica Simpson on New Life: 'I'm So Blessed'

Jessica Simpson is opening up about her new look, her new man and her new life, and “Extra” got her very first interview in almost a year!

The former “Newlywed” is getting ready for her 27th birthday, and this time around, she knows what she wants in her life.

“It’s really going to be a year where I am no longer the girl with potential,” Jessica said. “I’m the butterfly.”

We caught up with Jessica in Las Vegas where she partied with Eva Longoria and “Extra’s” own Mario Lopez to celebrate The Pussycat Dolls’ 2-year anniversary bash at Pure nightclub.

While hanging’ with the dolls, Jessica showed off her new locks. “I’m happy to be a brunette because it kind of reflects who I am,” she said.

Simpson has also been spending a lot of time with her rocker boyfriend John Mayer since divorcing Nick Lachey last June.

“There’s a lot of discovery,” Jessica said. “And that’s what’s so amazing and humbling about life – is that every day is a new discovery, whether it’s as simple as a hair color or a new friend in your life, a new person in your life.”

As for turning to therapy to get through the tough times, Simpson told us, “I think that therapy is very healing. It's hard for the world that you live in to let everyone around you in on everything that you're going through, and for somebody who just really doesn't know much about you, it's much easier."

“I’ve got to get my life together and become the woman that I’ve always wanted to be,” she added. “And just love life and love who I am.”

After a long and very public year, Jessica seems to have everything under control. Added Jess, “I’m so blessed.”
