David Hasselhoff's Cry for Help

Alarming footage of Hasselhoff drunk on the floor in his Las Vegas residence.

David Hasselhoff is a man in crisis.

“Extra” has obtained recent video in which a shirtless and extremely intoxicated Hasselhoff sits on the floor in his residence in Las Vegas so out of it that he is unable to feed himself a hamburger.

In the disturbing footage, a close family member, who is off camera, pleaded with him to “stop drinking.”

In a statement to “Extra” through his attorneys, David Hasselhoff said, “I am a recovering alcoholic. Despite that I have been going through a painful divorce and I have recently been separated from my children due to my work, I have been successfully dealing with my issue.

Unfortunately, I did have a brief relapse, but part of recovery is relapse. Because of my honest and positive relationship with my children, who were concerned for my well-being, there was a tape made when I had a relapse to show me what I was like. I have seen the tape. I have learned from it, and I am back on my game. I hope that someone else will learn from the tape, as I have. I thank God for the love and concern from my children. ”

In the video, an incoherent Hasselhoff was disciplined by the worried family member, who said, “If you get alcohol tonight, you are fired from the show [The Producers] tomorrow and the doctor is coming over here in the morning to check your alcohol level. If you have any alcohol in your system, you are going to be fired from the show.”

Hasselhoff promised to stop drinking after he is told his behavior was “not fair to your family.” The person implored Hasselhoff, “Tell me you are going to stop, tell me you are going to stop.” Eventually, a drunken Hasselhoff answered, “Yep… yes… mmmhmm.”

During the video, Hasselhoff is repeatedly asked why he continued to “do this” to himself.

Hasselhoff, who is presently locked in a bitter custody battle for his daughters with his ex-wife Pamela Bach, mumbled, “Cause, I’m lonely. I have trouble in my life.”

The family member responded, “You have me.” To which Hasselhoff replied, “I don’t have you in my life… bull___… I don’t have you… I don’t have you.”

The family member declared, “You are throwing your life away. It's stupid.”

drinking is in my genes

it’s in his family’s genes too

drinking is a big disease

david will stop when he meets me

i’m a happy baby just like david is

david loves handicapped people with learning disablities very much

and plus david is my one true love

i think david needs me i know i need him

David explained why he was filmed and perhaps it will help others to see that celeberties are human and to error is human. However it should not have been aired, that seems like an ex wife trick
to keep custody. It would probably push anyone to drink. However drinking is a addiction and a very difficult one
to over come. It takes years of struggle and not all succeed. Once an alcoholic always, just one that is recovering and David no doubt cleans up well. His daughter loves him and as long as she plays tough love he will keep on track just keep the personal stuff personal. I wouldn’t want my weakness displayed on the internet. For his eyes only I would think.
I pity the celeberties, every one wants to make a buck on you. That is why they drink……………

whoe David. a daughter should be trying to help you through things not destroy you on tv. Your daughter has more problems than you and shes a little tattle tail know it all burning her father at the stake. There are many ways she coulda gone about helping you without taking a video camera and throwing your worst moment out to the public. If i were you i wouldnt worry about having her around, and watchout for all the material empty stuff around you and build for a future without that one daughter. Shes like Benidict Arnold and what she did to you is a billion times worse than you drinking because you are depressed. Get rid of that daughter she is one wicked mean kid that has no brains actually and its not corageous to ever do that to a parent in a low point. Wow, that girl betrayed her father with a video camera, what a loser child. you may have some things to work out which are forgivable things but shes gonna get all this glamor for what, video taping you in a weak moment and giving it to press. shes a backstabbing betraying bad child, she might as well just be satan herself

Alcohol is NOT a disease, its just a habbit people get for getting away from reality and feeling better. Its definately an addictive progressive habbit but one ALWAYS has the ability to control themself if they focus on discipline. Elephantitis, cancer, and aids are diseases. Working hard everyday to overcome a weakness never requires a brainwashing untruthful RELIGIOUS cult like AA. Dont worry about being brainwashed by AAers David, just focus on your family pick things up and work your butt of with discipline. Dont ever say you’ll completely quit cause you like drinking but keep it out of your life as much as possible and if you pick one up now and then go back to your basics on discipline. YOU ARE NOT POWERLESS over alcohol, humans ALWAYS have choices, AA is a religious joke and almost anyone has the power to control themselves if they work their buns off on discipline and routine, and replace old habbits with better ones, focusing on real values.

I don’t think that it is necessary to put this man on display. None of us are superhuman and I think we have all had vices at some point or another in our life. People with money and fame have the same problems as people without. David, I wish you the best. I think you are wonderful actor. I am also sure that you are a wonderful person and I think these addictions come from people not thinking highly enough of themselves. If you are fed with negativity long enough you believe that over the positive. It is the human condition. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and know that there is a purpose for you being here, if for nothing else but to be a wonderful father and friend to your children. We are all precious in God’s sight. All the best to you David.
You are in my prayers.
There was no need to watch a video of this. This is not entertainment.
God bless you David,

As a recovering alcohol abuser I can say that recovery isn’t easy - especially in the beginning. AA can help and there is no shame in seeking help. The only shame comes from the continued drinking. I’ve been sober for 6 years now and never had a relapse. My desire to drink left after I drove drunk with my, (then 12 year old), son in the car. I realized that night how dangerous my drinking had become and the example I was setting.I didn’t want to miss out on my only child’s life while in a drunken stupor, and I didn’t want my drunken state to be all he remembered when he grew up. I lived with that all my life - and the verbal and physical abuse that went with it - and knew I did not want my child to suffer the same fate. Mostly, I sobered up for myself so I could remember the events in *my* life. All alcoholics know there’s always an *excuse* to drink and someone to blame; but the only one really to blame is the alcoholic. It is a disease, but it’s a disease with a cure. A strong mind and strong will are tough to come by, but worth the struggle in the end. Sobriety is a wonderful thing and I truly hope Mr Hasselhoff finds that out now, before he misses too much. Good luck & God Bless!

PS. To the future ex-Mrs Hasselhoff - never kick a man when he’s down. It hurts him, your kids, and makes you look bad in the long run. Karma can be a real b*tch - don’t forget that!

Greetings Mr Hasselhoff
Im Rick and seem to be suffering along the same lines as yourself. Difference is, Im not divorced - not yet. My wife is Korean, a business person and very strong and seemingly willing to tough out these hard times with me. served in the active Army for over 20 years and really never took a drop - a few beers now and again. Sence my retirement, I feel I sort of lost it and just decided to go with it. Going with it is driving my family crazy to see me a falling down drunk. Not sure what happens to us but Im willing to be brave with you and fight this thing. Your family will always love you as I know mine does. God bless you Sir and as your family would say, ” Come home Dad “!

This was a very private night between Hasselhof and his family, it shouldn’t have been exposed for the world to see.

In the worse, it looks like a man who is on a drunk… big deal!! If he chooses to drink, that is up to him.

I don’t get the panic about this story. The focus should be on the invasion of privacy. Media goes to far these days.

So David, chin up!! You had a drunk night, most of us have had many many of them. There are far more worse things to be guilty of. The guilt rests with the person who released the video.

What now? The inexcusable airing of the Anna Nicole clown video wasn’t enough?

I didn’t watch that whole trash tape and I don’t want to see this one either.

Will the real media please stand up? If this is “entertainment” news I would hate to see what they regard as real news.

Why don’t they call it The Cut Throat News or The Kick You When Your Down News instead? Because that is all we continue to see on these cloned tabloid shows. Repeat- after repeat- after repeat- of someone at their lowest. Destroying families one by one and not once doing something that could actually save lives.

All the while the real questions about 9/11 and how building 7 miraculously fell are not “news” worthy??? The fact that many of the so-called highjackers have been found very much alive doesn’t rate as news? The genocide being commited in the Middle East doesn’t matter?? Our men coming back in body bags over what appears to be state sponsored terrorism doesn’t even reach the new radar? What is wrong with this picture folks?

If you want to entertain us then do it. If you are going for sickening news then there’s plenty to share from Iran and Afghanistan. Just make up your mind Extra because this is not entertainment.
