Rosie O’Donnell Quits ‘The View’

On Wednesday morning, Rosie O’Donnell revealed she is leaving “The View” after only one controversial season on the morning chatfest.

“I’ve decided we couldn’t come to terms with my deal,” Rosie said on-air.

The network also confirmed Wednesday that they were unable to come to terms on another contract with the star.

"I wanted one year, they wanted three years," Rosie said of the negotiations. But don’t fret just yet, O’Donnell added: "I'm not going away. I'm just not going to be here every day."

Barbara Walters, co-anchor and creator of “The View,” revealed she's "grateful" that O'Donnell spent a year with the show and admitted she's "sad" Rosie is leaving. She added they have not even begun to search for Ro’s replacement.

The president of ABC daytime programming says they knew when they first hired O'Donnell that anything longer than a one-year stay would be "gravy."

He added that the ABC hopes O'Donnell will do a series of one-hour specials for the network and maybe even guest host once in a while.

We will have coverage of the fallout and what led Rosie to toss in the towel, Wednesday on “Extra!”

You Rosie haters are sad sad people. I suppose you all like Rush Limbaugh huh. She believed in something and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She supports the troops and wants them home here safe. She put her money where her mouth is by donating large sums of money to the Vet Rehab hospital in Texas and Katrina victims. How much money or time have all you Rosie haters put up. Most likely Nothing!!!!!

And one more thing, I never criticized Rosie for taking anti-depressants. I said and I quote “She has so much anger and hatred inside of her (one only needs to listen to her speak) for both the US and Bush that she must be a tormented person; you can not possibly live life with that kind of bad weather inside of you all the time and not have it effect you emotionally. Perhaps, that is why she takes anti-depressants!” Where in that statement was I critical of her? I was stating my opinion of what might be the reason for her anger and why she takes anti-depressants. She has told everyone she takes them so how is that being critical? Please stop exaggerating my statements please!
I use to be a fan of hers and just because she is a Lesbian does not make me dislike her, it is her ranting and name calling, like I stated before. I guess that is two things!

Good suggestion, I will consider it since I actually believed that one could state an opposite opinion and not be belittled. You just proved me wrong! Oh, for your information, I work nights so my hours may not jive with yours, so sorry, different lifestyle!

1. I bet the baby cares!
2. If you can think for yourself
what do you need Rosie’s
ranting for?
3. You proved my point about the
name calling.
4. I do have and cherish my gay
son (who served nine years in
the Army).
5. Losing a child in any form is
devastating; in which this is
one area you have obviously
have not experienced from the
way you are trying to
tivialized my loss.
6. Who did I say was not allowed
to speak their opinion? I just
ask if we could stop all the
name calling and belittling! I
guess one could only hope!
7. More name calling??? Good
one! Why not just come up with
some good solutions instead of
waste time calling name, is
that all you have?
8. It seems to me that we were
bombed first.
9. The only reason Rosie’s life
style ever came up is because
she brought it up first and has
continued to do so. If you are
going to use your personal life
as a tool to get your agenda
pushed than be ready for those
who disagree to push back.
10. I agree that Bush has made a
lot of mistakes but what
President hasn’t? It seems to
me Clinton (who I happened to
like) did himself! I also
believe that things over there
will never be fixed unless the
surrounding country’s step in
and help stabilize the country,
but they won’t do it due to the
fact they hate the U.S. and
want us to fail. I also feel
that Bush and his team should
have considered what would
happen once they over threw
Saddam government. No one
likes war, Hello! Yes, we do
have problems at home to fix,
like our boarders!
11. Finally, marriage was
considered a religious ceremony
between Men and Women, in all
faiths. I don’t know a faith
that believes marriage between
the same sex is acceptable.
Unless, that religion broke off
from an already established one
in order to pamper to the
Homosexuals. It is the belief
of some that since man and
woman are opposites, when they
come together they become one.
How can you become one if
you’re both the same? Just
because you believe that it
doesn’t matter who gets married
to whom, don’t expect society
to jump to your side and change
just because you call us
names.

I so agree! Toni, grow a brain and open your eyes. Who even cares if she believes in partial birth abortion?

Unlike blindsighted ignorant Bush following cronies, Democrats have the ability to think for themselves. As a result, opinions and beliefs very greatly.

I have the name and number for a good shrink if you need it.

One more thing to Anonymous Toni,

Are you sure your daughter was straight?

What if she were alive today AND a lesbian, how would you feel about Rosie then?

What if your daughter had died fighting in Iraq? What if her legs had been blown off?

DID OUR COUNTRY NOT FIGHT FOR FREE SPEECH? EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO GIVE TO THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ? Hypocryte!

A suggestion for you…

To Anonymous Toni,

Before you criticize Rosie for taking antidepressants perhaps you should consider some for yourself. A good dose may stop you from posting ignorant blogs at 3:25 am.

May i further suggest that you view “the Fifth Estate” or better yet, pull your head out of your ass and realize that your beloved President STARTED this war with his personal agenda in mind and has been lying to ALL OF US ever since.

You folks are (for the most part) insane. And I’ll bet not only that, but you’re Republican Christians.

People are entitled to their opinions. No one I know is in favour of this war anymore, and it would be a good idea for Bush to pony up, admit his mistake, and start pulling our troops out of there. That problem will NEVER be fixed. NEVER. We have problems at home that need attention.

But what does he care? He’s run two consecutive terms, and whatever he does now will be left for our next President to clean up.

It’s amazing to me that people are against Rosie because of stuff that really shouldn’t matter in this context. She’s a lesbian? Marriage should be between a man and a woman? Please! Marriage should be between people who LOVE EACH OTHER and that’s not gender biased.

Anyway….

It’s ok to not like her views, just as it’s ok to not like Elizabeth “I’m a reality star who married a football player so I know things” Hasselbeck. But let’s not resort to ASSuming things not in evidence. Just because Rosie is against the things she’s against doesn’t mean she has a left agenda (wtf does that mean anyway?) it means she has an opinion. And like most of you who have posted on here thus far, she’s entitled to it.

Some of you are right and some of you are as blind as a bat. It is called the “The View” not “My Own Personal Agenda Hour”.

Rosie is mad at US and Bush because the US does not want “Same Sex Marriage” and Bush represents the Christian’s whose belief is that “Marriage” should be between a man and a woman and that
homosexually is a sin. She must feel that she is not equal or as good as those who have the right to marry.
I can understand how she might feel like second class because of the marriage thing but hey, we all don’t get what we want out of life, and if you do than your one of the luckier ones. I wanted my daughter to grow up, get married and give me lot of grandkid but instead she (19) was killed in a car accident when he newly installed seatbeats failed, so see Rosie even us married ones don’t get what we want.
She has so much anger and hatred inside of her (one only needs to listen to her speak) for both the US and Bush that she must be a tormented person; you can not possibly live life with that kind of bad weather inside of you all the time and not have it effect you emotionally. Perhaps, that is why she takes anti-depressants!

If she really loves her children or should I address this portion to Rosie herself? So, Rosie, if you love your kids as much as you say you do, why then would you not support the efforts that are being made by “OTHER” men and women to stop the terrorisms from coming into this country. Or do you think were untouchable? Obviously 9-11 was not a wake up call to you as it was to some of us. Do you want your children to live under the conditions that the Afghanistan and Iraq children have had to live under? When do you think it is a good time to fight the terrorist, when there down town LA, Salt Lake City, NY? Oh, wait, they did hit there didn’t they? I forgot, the US government planned that attach, I get so confused. Being a mother and an aunt to several little one, I pray that we can stop the terrorist before they come here so that my nieces and nephews won’t have to deal with it. I rather us adults pay now than have my loved ones pay later. However, you don’t appear to be worried about that as much as the $ amount the war is costing, as it is so well indicated on your personal website. Tick, Tick, Tick! I bet you’re against sealing up our borders also, am I correct?

Why is it that certain people forget or refuse to believe that President Clinton himself thought there were WMDs, and just because they didn’t find them, are we so blind as to think that they weren’t there? Or do we use that just as an excuse to hate Bush because everyone on the left believes he some how magically robbed Al Gore of his victory, even thought the highest court in the land found in favor of Bush (which we all know how conservative that group is), but they must be Bush lovers also! Why do you think Saddam kept jacking the UN around, well DA, doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Perhaps, he needed just a little more time to get the WMDs out of the country? He had enough time!

Just one last question Rosie, do you believe in partial birth abortions? Being the child lover that you are, I was just curious!

Well, I wish you no harm but it will be nice to watch the “View” again (one could only hope) and not be totally dumb founded by what comes out of your mouth.

Rosie used negative talk and delusional behavior to promote her far left views. Where were her solutions to all her pessimistic topics? Rosie proves how freedom protects all people even those that have lost touch reality and have abused media sources with soured and distorted views.

Let’s not forget that it is Rosie’s ill informed statements and obvious hostility to any “view” not her own (read intolerance) that has her leaving. She left because they had had enough. Playing the fat lesbian card couldn’t get her out of this jam. Hopefully we won’t have to see her on the tube anymore!

Those of you who support me are morons. I spew anti-american rhetoric daily with no basis or facts to support my views. I am severly misguided and extremely offensive. I am a bitter depressed person who hates my country. Our soldiers are defending our freedom so that I can accuse them of atrocities. All of our soldiers may not agree with the war, however they joined a volunteer military service and take their misson seriously and act professionally, unlike me. Due to my obnoxious personality, I somehow believe I can speak for everyone when discussing these issues. Anyway, for now I’m done making ignorant comments on the view (such as the terrorists aren’t terrorists they’re mothers and fathers don’t fear them, or christians are terrorists). Don’t worry though, I’ll resurface soon with more talking points from moveon.org. Tomorrow I’m having lunch with George (Soros), Michael (Moore), Al (Franken), and Bill (Maher).

Okay, these comments are all fake or everyone here is related to that sow. Hopefully she’ll shut the hell up. Not that i listen to her c*ap anyway, but I’ve even grown to hate her stupid face. I know she was asked to leave. Now, maybe the show will make sense and we may even hear an intelligent conversation or two. Oh, and no one cares if she’s a lesbian. You can’t defend her disgusting display of obnoxiousness by trying to defend her sexuality. Many strait people are equally as disgusting and no one exuses them by defending their straitness, so that argument is way old too.
Her second little round of 15 minutes is over and THANK GOODNESS. Don’t worry, another moron will be along soon for bitter people to defend.

good riddens

Why is she famous again?? I think it was because of comedy, but she was never funny anyways. Unfortunately some Americans enjoy listening to an obnoxious, overfed, ignorant woman(questionably) who should not be in the public spotlight. She’s also lucky she can’t hear what most people think about her, or what they say about her…. I think she’d have a breakdown.

I will no longer watch the View after Rosie leaves. She expresses many views (that I agree with) that many are afraid to voice. No one can replace her.
The show is uninteresting without her. I’ll miss you, Rosie, you brightened up my day. You easily replaced the two previous View members, Star and Meredith.

Why do we hate Rosie? So she makes comments about being a lesbian or accidentally says “supposedly” racist remarks?

(I’m asian by the way and I wasn’t offended, I know 99% of you people have also made the same mistake by making a racist remark without even knowing it, the only difference is she was caught cause she was on TV)

Nobody gets mad at ELIZABETH for being fine and OK that American soldiers die everyday for no good reason and that 600,000 civilian Iraqis are now dead because of Bush that she adores and supports very much. By the way, while loving Bush, she hates on Al Gore for wanting to save OUR PLANET and thinks he’s the phony one?!! Somebody teach this sheltered little girl a lesson. Obviously if she doesn’t care that Americans and Iraqis are dying, why should she care if we all die because of global warming?!

So let’s take time and switch our protest against this oblivious and thinks she knows it all Elizabeth, not Rosie!

Dear Rosie,
I hope you will continue with the View. But there does come a time when real people like you Rosie, need to go out an venture new possibilities and even new chapters in their lives. I am a single Mom of four kids. I am just like you very out spoken say whats on my mind kinda person. And its true there are those people that can’t get past the out spoken ones and I think it scares them. I wish you the best of luck on your new venture and keep up the REAL ROSIE. Do not ever change. And Donald Trumph you can kiss my hinney. Rosie is a real person. Unlike you, your fakeness. Best wishes to you and your family. Your biggest fan. I know I will see you soon.
