Even at 57 years of age, Richard Gere still knows how to make a “Pretty Woman” swoon.

At an AIDS awareness event in India over the weekend, Gere was in top form.

But little did the sexy actor know that dancing and then kissing actress Shipla Shetty for the cameras would set off a near riot.

On Monday, protestors burned pictures of the actress and a figure of Gere, even beating it with sticks, claiming that the public displays of affection are against Indian culture.

Talk about tough love!
