Alec Baldwin to Daughter: ‘I’m Tired of Playing this Game With You’

“Extra” spotted Alec Baldwin just hours after his explosive telephone tantrum to his 11-year-old daughter Ireland was heard from coast to coast.

“I am going to get on a plane, and I’m going to come out there for the day, and I am going to straighten you’re a** out,” he threatened his only daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

However, when Alec appeared on Letterman the same day he left the voicemail, he gushed about Ireland.

When Letterman asked how she was doing, he replied, “She’s great.”

On Friday, Harvey Levin, managing editor of TMZ.com, which broke the story, told “Extra” what may have led to this father’s fury.

“He called, she didn’t answer. He called again the next day, she didn’t answer. The third day, the tape that we have, is the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Levin dished.

And this just in to “Extra”: we’ve learned that Alec filed a motion in L.A. on Friday for a hearing to find out how the tape got out!

On his website late Friday, he told his fans, “I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child.”

Meanwhile, “Extra” is first with the news that since this message was left, Alec has spoken to Ireland.

Baldwin’s spokesman tells us, “He apologized to Ireland a week ago; he knows he was wrong.”

Alec was supposed to visit Ireland in Los Angeles Friday, but because of the voicemail leaked to the press, an L.A. judge has temporarily suspended Alec’s visitation rights.

What’s more, Alec has spent a cool $1.25 million in legal fees over the past six years and is currently writing a book about divorce.

He also recently told “Extra” how painful the legal process has been: “A real ugly, very filthy situation, which is not my favorite place to be.”

“This is the nastiest divorce I’ve ever seen,” Levin told us. “This is the war of the roses on steroids.”

“Extra” obtained a picture of Ireland and Kim just two days after Alec’s rant, and Basinger recently confided to “Extra” how Ireland is coping, saying, “She’s done amazing; she’s just an amazing person.”

While Alec longs to get his daughter’s attention, “Extra” has learned that the fate of his visitation rights are now up in the air; another hearing is set for May 4th.

I don’t believe a word out of Alex Baldwin’s mouth. I remember out landish bouts of anger from him in years past. I don’t know how anyone could side with his outrageous comments to his daughter, I don’t care how angry or frusterated he was. As far as Kim goes, kudos to her. I would protect my child from a possibly abusive influence as well. Rosie O’Donnell’s support of him is not surprising. She’s just as outrageous and in my opinion has lost her mind! I wish both of them were out of the limelight, as no positive influence can come out of either one’s mouth.

You were right. My kids would know you like you said. I’m suprised my comment made it about Alec Baldwin when I searched google.
Anyways, you’re doing great on the tube and I watch you all the time. Thanks for the drinks back in 01, Ray Kirschman

No one should call, a child a “PIG”, that is demeaning/painful and hurtful, especially cooming from your parent! Verbal abuse/threats are unacceptable, PERIOD!!!

I FEEL THAT ALEC WAS VERY WRONG FOR WHAT WAS LEFT ON HIS DAUGHTER’S MACHINE REGARDLESS OF WHO IT WAS LEFT FOR. MAKING IT SEEM AS IF IT IS ALL THE MOTHER’S FAULT IS JUST WRONG. ALEC MAY BE A GREAT ACTOR AND ALL BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN HE IS JUST AS GOOD OF A FATHER. EVERY PARENT HAS THEIR FLAWS THAT DOESN’T MAKE THEM A TERRIBLE PARENT IT JUST MEANS THEY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO CONTROL THEIR ANGER TOWARDS THEIR CHILD.

I think that Alec was very wrong what he said to his daughter. If he was leaving that message for Kim then he would have called Kim phone. People must really think that Alec is a great father because if he was he wouldn’t have called her names.

I posted a comment and reading all the ones to give Alec a break and that being a single parent or married with kids….What difference does that make? Just because you have children doesnt mean you can talk to them like they are NOTHING a child or teen or even a adult should be talked to with RESPECT so they grow up to be a wonderful and loving human being.(To have a child is a gift because not everyone can have them) and if you look at he news there are alot of children who arent being treated right and their outcome is death or foster care!! And there is enough hate in this world. Everything I say is how I have been brought up and my parents were the best and I wouldnt of traded them for anything and whether our lives get put out there in the open or not doesnt mean crap WE ALL NEED TO BE MORE RESPECTFUL OF EVERYONE AND IT SHOULDNT MATTER IF ITS A CHILD OR AN ADULT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t believe the people who would place the blame on Kim for what Alec did! Talk about shifting blame here! He should be banned from ever seeing her again, does anyone think that Ireland will ever forget what her father said to her?

The very words he used and so easily, tells us that this is something he does often. It is natural to him to speak this way from how easily it is delivered. He doesn’t hesitate. This is him. I’m sure by now Kim regrets ever having such a jerk as the father of her child. Im saddened that Ireland has to have such an abusive man in her life, it does shape how a woman will chose men in the future.

The whole thing is disgusting and I am quite sure that this is NOT an isolated incident, just one of many that preceded it!!!

For shame Alec Baldwin, clean up your act and beg for forgiveness instead of hiding and placing blame elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can’t believe all the people ready to shut alec out of ireland’s life because he called her out on her bratty behavior! poor “fragile” kim should never have been given so much time to foster that behavior, and never should have released this to the press_ itjust made a hard situation harder. i was in abusive homes- this was an absent not-by-chice dad mad at callous behavior fostered by a manipulative mother.

I am appalled this was released and must entirely place blame on whoever allowed this to be released. If it was this little girl’s mother…. SHAME ON HER! She should love her kid before she hates her child’s father. What Alec told his child was not outlandish at all. He said he was going to straighten her out. I am quite sure that whatever moment of personal intensity was going on… he could have said a whole lot worse. It is appalling to me that the maternal side had this released. I feel sorry for the father and daughter in this case… If Kim had anything to do with this, then shame on her.

While I can understand that sometimes we say things we wish we could take back to our children ie “You’re a spoiled brat” or “What are you stupid?” (and I don’t condone any of it) I can not understand how someone can say the kind of things he said to his daughter. KIM on the other hand should NEVER have released that tape. If she really loved her daughter she wouldn’t have put her daughter in the limelight to get what she wants. Maybe they should get Ireland the heck away from both of them. They both have issues!
And as far as the comment from “Ray Kirschman” I think your comment is pretty biased. As a divorced mom I can say we got screwed by the court system too! My husband wanted to adopt my daughter and the court wouldn’t let him because of her “father’s rights”. Yea, the same father who abused her and molested her! But he is her father and has rights. My husband has been with her since she was 2, taken care of all her financial and emotional needs. My ex NEVER paid one cent of child support. Not that I would want his blood money anyway. But how fair is that to my daughter? Why do you think it’s always biased to the mother? It’s not. The courts make bad decisions towards both parents. They don’t know the situations and should really get their facts straight, not on a he said, she said basis. It stinks what you are going thru but don’t think it’s just the men who get screwed in court. Most of the time, no one wins. I am happy to report that at the age of 18 my daughter was legally adopted by “her daddy” Her choice and she is proud of her new birth certificate! God Bless You, I hope that in the end your kids can feel love from both of you and that you both realize what’s really important in life.

I am going thru the same thing when it comes to family law that is biased in this country torwards men. These ex wives use their kids as a pawn and the laws/courts say no, we’re in the best interest of the child is crap. Every time my ex doesn’t like something, she keeps the kids from me and back to court, more money and nothing is done for the Father’s.
The system is creating dead beat Father’s and these women do not ever get what should be coming to them by the rule of law.
So I feel really bad for Mr. Baldwin even tho he was wrong and made a mistake!!!, but there are more facts out there than we all know and I’m sure Mommy’s playing the roll of her life in this too.
Sincerely, Ray Kirschman. Las Vegas, NV

No one adult or child should be subjected to such verbal abuse. As a parent and single mother myself, I would protect my child from any threats my child receives even if the threat is from the father. Kim is doing the right thing. I applauded Kim for standing up to Alex to protect Ireland. Kim, hang in there. I have been in and out of court over the last 15 years with my ex-husband protecting my child from his father. You know deep down what you have to do for your child’s health and well-being. God Bless you and Ireland.

I do not agree with the way Alec spoke to his daughter on the answer machine, even though he had been scheduled to speak to her. When she wasn’t available after three times I can understand his anger. However it should have been directed to Kim not the daughter as I believe Kim had a great deal to do with the missed calls. I believe she is using her daughter as a pawn in an ugly “War of the Baldwins”. Kim is more ugly than his anger.
When Alec first married kim he stepped up to the plate and paid off her 10 million dollar debt and now that she has no more use for him she will do anything to make him look bad. It makes me feel she only had his baby to pay him back. Yes he may have a bad temper that could use some control and for this he should seek counciling. As for her the court should order her not to be allowed to say or do anything to turn the child against him. She also needs counciling. I can’t imagine ther isn’t anyone who doesn’t have some kind of skeletons in their closets. And as a very wise man once said, “Let he without sin cast the first stone”!
