Will Antonella's Racy Photos Hurt Her Chances of Winning 'Idol'?

It was a night to remember Wednesday on "American Idol," as the ladies took the stage and Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle broke away from the pack.

Some of the other remaining finalists, however, weren't so lucky.

Antonella Barba surely wanted to run off stage after Simon Cowell told the 20-year-old college student, "I think this has seriously, seriously damaged your chances of remaining here another week."

The Jersey girl and her best friend shook up the Hollywood auditions, but only Antonella got through to the final 24 where her debut didn't go as planned.

But now Antonella has something else to worry about besides her singing; a website has posted pictures of Antonella topless and some racier shots with some other nearly naked ladies.

While this daddy's little girl has already collected her votes for Thursday night's results show, Simon did say that, sans the voice, he is an Antonella fan.

"The good news is you're attractive," Simon admitted.

No word yet whether the site will post more pictures or remove them all; but as for Antonella, she'll find out if her pretty face makes up for her poor performance when "Idol's" results show airs Thursday night on FOX.

It is disgraceful how Frenchie Davis a talented, robust singer was thrown off AI and Antonella Barbra size 3 is allowed to continue. It is clear Simon will only support small framed contestants that take on the traditional “Hot” values. This is a singing competition not “Americas Top Model”!! Simon relax and enjoy the music.

I want to say for the record that I hope Antonella becomes the next American Idol.
O.K….she doesn’t have a perfect voice, but you have to look at the the marketability of her overall package. She’s young, beautiful, and has attitude. Oh yeah…and she can sing pretty well.
As for her photos… I don’t understand the problem. In Europe, partial-nudity wouldn’t be a scandal… it would be allowed on the show.
Do I feel Frenchie should have been kicked off because of it…well…”no”. Do I think there I a difference in their situations…”absolutely”!!! Frenchie knowingly posted herself on that website…Antonella did not. Frenhcie has no right to compare herself to Antonella, it’s like comparing apples to oranges.
I wish Antonella the best of luck. No matter what happens…this exposure will get her picked up by some agency be it music or modeling.

I think she should get kicked off the show for three reasons: 1. she can’t sing - I can’t believe she’s a finalist, 2. the photos - if they kicked of Frenchie, she should be removed as well, and 3. her attitude - i can’t believe she compared herself to Jennifer Hudson.

No the pictures will not hurt her chances of winning. She will not win because she SUCKS. She has not sang one note on key yet. She is terrible. the only thing keeping her is her pictures…men are voting for that!!!

It would be hypocritical of Idol NOT to remove Antonella, in light of the fact that Frenchie was kicked off for pictures FAR less revealing and pornographic (the ones on Dlist.com do fall into that category). Not about jealousy..most women have a lot more dignity.

American Idol is about a person’s talents to entertain in the music industry. We see/hear overly eccentric happenings everyday about celebrities, and we still continue to go see them in movies, radios, and concerts. Everyone has done something explicit, and unfortunately she’s one of many allowed someone to take pictures of her in the act. It very easy to be hypocritical when its not you in the hot seat. Jealousy is one of several downfalls to a starting career, especially when a best friend didn’t make the cut. “I’m classically trained…Antonella isn’t” So why not impede her career.
