What Did You Think of Ellen's Oscar Performance?

It was Ellen’s night to shine in Hollywood Sunday, and from the Hollywood heavyweights to the heartthrobs, the stars agree Ellen wore out everyone’s funny bone!

“She was hilarious,” Best Supporting Actress winner Jennifer Hudson gushed.

“She was amazing,” Best Actor Forest Whitaker added.

Even tough critic Steven Spielberg told “Extra,” “I want Ellen to come back next year, and the year after that and the year after that.”

Once the lights faded out at the Kodak Theater, Ellen and girlfriend Portia de Rossi kept the party going at the Vanity Fair bash, where everyone was still raving about her Golden performance.

“It was great, and it was so important to her,” Ellen’s mom said.

“I thought Ellen was incredible,” Beyoncé said.

Even Regis Philbin loved the talk show host, gushing, “There wasn’t enough of her.”

But on Monday, it was back to her day job with “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” coming from the Kodak Theater.

That’s a wrap from Hollywood, now it’s time for you to tell us: what did you think of Ellen’s Oscar performance? Share your thoughts!

Ellen did a great job with what she had. But the director should be fired - the rest of the show was dull and full of fluff that didn’t need to be in there. I would have preferred to hear acceptance speeches instead of watching gymnasts. The videos were boring - and who cared about the first awards of the evening? What happened with beginning with the Best Supporting Actor and Actress?

It was nice and relaxed; maybe a little too relaxed. She can be funnier — maybe if she let her nerves show a bit more. Generally I adore her. Maybe a little more edge would have been good.

I L O V E Ellen. She did a great job. She is funny and kind. No mean bone in her body. Very refreshing compared to the political crap and back stabbing of some of the show folks.

Ellen was awesome! I actually stayed up and watched the entire show for the first time ever, just to be able to check out Ellen during the entire show. Hope she is selected to host again. You go, girl!

Ellen was FAB!!
She rocked in all of her suits, she was as cute, funny and hialrious as she is on her own show. I never make it through the entire awards show because, well lats face it, these shows can be quite boring. I usually watch to see who is wearing what, and by the middle of the show I’m sound asleep. However this year, Ellen was such a joy to watch that I stayed up and tuned in the entire show!
I hope she is back next year!
Great job Ellen! We love u!

Ellen was great! The show lagged in areas but it was not Ellen’s fault. The first 10 minutes are really what it’s all about and she did great. I’m glad that it went back to the more simple and traditional style. That’s what the Oscars are about. tradition. They really should choose more wisely when it comes to presenters. They are what’s lacking and making the show drag. Good presenters could make a world of difference to the whole show. Jerry Seinfeld and co-presenters Steve and Greg know how to do the job. Great job Ellen. Best I’ve seen in years.

I thought Ellen did a great job - though I have to agree that her hosting was a bit subdued. I think she had so much pressure not to be “too political” that she missed out on some good laughs. I loved here classic Ellen stuff though - like asking Speilberg to take her photo and her vacuuming skit. Ellen’s great at ad-libbing, so I hope they let her host again next year and give her more freedom to do what she does best. She’s a HYSTERICAL stand-up comic, with tons of charm, and I would love to see her host the Oscars again and again. She’s the best! A note about her outfits though - she looked HOT in her all white tuxedo (and classy), but the burgundy suit at the beginning of the show and the black and blue outfit at the end were unflattering and tacky. She’s so cute and in such great shape - she should have been decked out in a custom-made black tuxedo with a white blouse and black shoes. She deserved to look classy and sexy for the whole show. This is Hollywood - there’s no excuse for (her image consultants) not making sure she looked as fabulous and
beautiful as she is. I do hope she hosts again next year.
Thanks, Ellen! You are awesome!

Funny, cordial, kind and quirky, what’s not to like! It’s refreshing to see some one who isn’t out to cut someone else’s throat for a change

Ellen did the job as she likely was expected to: safely. She was funny, but could have been funnier. When Jerry Seinfeld presented an award he was HILARIOUS, and I found myself wishing they’d chosen him to host. There’s always next year…

Ellen did a fair job, but I expected more from her. When Jerry Seinfeld came up to present an award he was funnier, and I found myself wishing he were the host. He seemed less afraid of offending and more interested in getting a laugh, which was the order of the day. Maybe next year?
