Anna Nicole Smith Dies at Age 39

Former model and reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith was pronounced dead on Thursday. She was 39.

The all-American blonde bombshell, who grew up in a small Texas town, became one of the biggest and brashest stars in the world.

The first news of Anna Nicole’s death came from one of her lawyers, Ronald Rale, as he spoke to MSNBC’s Rita Cosby.

“I can confirm Anna Nicole is deceased; I was informed with a person who was in the room with Howard Stern,” Rale revealed.

He said while she felt ill, suffering from flu-like symptoms, nothing else seemed out of the ordinary for the former Playboy playmate.

Anna Nicole collapsed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida, where she was found unresponsive.

Her bodyguard was the first to administer CPR, and once on the scene, paramedics raced to save her life, even put a breathing apparatus in her throat.

But sadly, it wasn’t enough to save her life. Anna Nicole was pronounced dead at 2:49 p.m.

The cause of death is still unknown and will be determined by the medical examiner as the Florida police investigate this tragic story.

The man she’s been referring to as her husband, her lawyer Howard K. Stern, who claims to be the father of her baby, was with her; the couple was reportedly in Florida to purchase a boat.

The family of Howard Marshall II, whom Anna Nicole married 1994, issued this statement:

“Our family was shocked by the untimely death of Anna Nicole Smith. We wish to express our sympathies to her family in this difficult time. We understand that many of you will be asking questions concerning the ongoing litigation with Anna. Out of respect to her friends and family, we will reserve comment on the litigation at this time.”

Hugh Hefner released this statement to "Extra:"

“I am very saddened to learn about Anna Nicole’s passing. She was a dear friend who meant a great deal to the Playboy family and to me personally. My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and loved ones during this difficult time.”

From Playmate to billionaire bride, her court fight, TrimSpa ads and everything in between, it seemed America couldn’t get enough of Anne Nicole’s life, which led to her hit reality show.

“Extra” first met Anna in 1997, when the model and actress told us how she’d beaten an addiction to booze and drugs.

“My son walked into my room, and he kind of opened the door, peeked up a bit and said, ‘Mommy, do you need anything?’ It kind of woke me up and hit home,” she admitted.

It was her son, Daniel, who was a steadfast by her side, even as she battled for a fortune after her Texas oil tycoon husband, J. Howard Marshall, passed away.

It was also in the courtroom that her lifelong fascination with Marilyn Monroe turned into this eerie prediction on the stand: “I want to be buried in the same concrete thing as Marilyn Monroe.”

But “Extra” also knew the wild side of Anna Nicole, who loved to party across the world.

Most recently, we spotted her partying it up in the Virgin Islands at a Jose Cuervo beauty contest.

“I always wanted to be in a pageant, but I never could,” she said. “I guess because I’m a bad girl.”

It was this self-proclaimed bad girl who used her celebrity to turn TrimSpa ads into an American catchphrase of “Do you like my body? TrimSpa baby!”

But Anna’s life took a sudden and tragic turn almost six months ago to the day, when her son suddenly died in the Bahamas from a mix of Methadone and anti-depressants just three days after the birth of her baby girl, Dannielynn.

Smith’s daughter’s birth sparked a fierce battle between Howard K. Stern and Anna’s former boyfriend Larry Birkhead.

Just this week Anna was ordered by a judge to provide DNA samples by Feb. 21 to determine who Dannielynn’s daddy really is.

Now, the whirlwind of Anna Nicole’s life has finally calmed, as her family and loved ones mourn the tragic loss of her life.

Imagining that Anna Nicole smith is dead, is so awful. She’s been so tough and she had a hectic, frantic, and chaotic lifestyle, and she had to deal with America labeling her after every action she’s made. I hope Anna rests in peace with her adored son, Daniel.

You will be greatly missed
:D

I believe that nicole smith died of combination of prescription drugs, and strongly believe that the father is Howard Stern, has a little bit resemblance of the baby.

I believe Anna Nichole died of heartache and stress. The lose of her son was too much and with all the other drama’s in her life took it’s toll. Hopefully she can now be with Daniel and rest in peace.

I read below people feel Rosie O’Donnell can say bad things about people and it’s okay because after all they are the View. Well I thinks Rosie is wrong because when she says something bad about someone who has an illness is just WRONG! And I know the other women on the View would just like to tell her to shut up! “Rest in peace Anna and I hope who ever the daddy is will love your daughter for her and not her millions.”

I am going to miss Anna Nicole Smith.
She was such a fun person so full of life but I’m sure she is finally at peace with her son,it’s just so sad she had to leave a daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with Anna’s Family and with Larry Birkhead-good luck Larry may god be on your side.

I don’t think it is fair to compare her to Marilyn Monroe, sure they looked alike but Marilyn lived through the great depression-and world war 2 and Anna wasn’t born until 1967 totally different world then-sure similar life styles but different circumstances.
Thank You.

I am soooo disappointed in Extra to be listening to this pathetic broken record.
I can’t believe you did not air Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio as scheduled…instead of watching 2 extremely gifted and talented individuals who set excellent examples on a multitude of fronts, from philanthropic to roles of Father, Husband, mentor and many more. They move through life with discipline and grace; this world is better because they are both in it.
What message is Warner Bros. sending when they choose a circus freak with no self control- she was a horrid example, all “pain” was self inflicted and she victimized a son and a daughter who’s father could be one of a dozen.
I’m selling my stock.
Get your act together.

Regardless of the mistakes Anna Nicole Smith made in her life, everyone says that she was an incredibly sweet, caring, and generous person. It’s so sad and so tragic—she overcame so many obstacles in her life and had many more to overcome. R.I.P. Anna Nicole Smith.

Anna lead such a tragic life. I just don’t think she was able to recover after her son died. Who would? She has had drug issues in the past and I don’t think she was able to get fully past them. I do believe it will be proven that she died from a drug overdose although I don’t think she was trying to kill herself. I don’t think she was a gold digger, I think Larry Birkhead is the father and I think Anna was wrong to put so much trust in Howard K. Stern. Something is not right with that guy. She is with her beloved son now and may she finally find some peace.

Anna Nicole has dug her own grave. She surrounded herself with drugs, alcohol and people who were not looking out for her best needs for several years. She used her own personality and celebrity as a means to make a living and it has finally turned on her in the end. In previous interviews she realized she had an addiction problem and then relapsed. Her “husband” was fully aware of her actions and made no attempt to save her from herself or at least for the sake of the baby. The baby will be better off not growing up in an environment that Anna Nicole created and will hopefully grow up in a loving responsible family. Only then will her daughter be able to look back at her mothers life and appreciate her for what she was, knowing deep down it all worked out for the best.

I actually had to do a double take when I saw the news on tv. It is such a sad end to a young life with a baby left behind. The sad part will be there may be opportunists who will want to raise the baby not because they love her but because they would want to get their hands on her money.

Do celebrities, talk shows, news, comedians, everyone & anyone not “make fun” of, talk about, joke about other people everyday? Did you ever laugh about a dumb or blonde or any other joke about Anna(or anybody) ever? I bet. People need to get off Rosie’s back- was she to know the future??? To avoid potential pre-death comments that cause problems, T.V. should just be outlawed all together, right? Anyone could die at anytime so all you pesamistic people that are so upset with Rosie…make sure you continue to never speak ill of anyone - ever!

Anna’s death was unexpected, I was shocked and sad for her. I feel for her daughter who won’t have her mother; and a ugly paternity suit; and all the greedy people out to get a piece of Anna’s fortune.

Anna was still dealing with losing Daniel (how does one ever get over loss of a child).

I’ve always liked Anna Nicole. She was unique and didn’t care what people thought of her. People might have thought she was a dumb blond etc. (but she wasn’t). She overcame many obstacles in her life, and persevered. Though, I wished she did overcame drugs and alcohol too (maybe with time, she would have gotten the help she needed to get clean). There was too much in her life to bear. Pray that she found peace with her son.

This is my second comment. I heard about what Rosie did and I’m sure she feels bad about it. What she said wasn’t going to make a difference. Granted she shouldn’t have said anything but it’s now over. Everone in this world is going to die at some point or another we don’t have control of that, but what we do with our time is in our control and Anna Nicole Smith did what she could with her short life. Now all we can do is hope her daughter’s issues get resolved quickly before she starts getting shuffled around everywhere. Rest in Peace Anna Nicole Smith and enjoy time with your son.

My heart goes out to Anna and her daughter. This could have been avoided if Howard forced her into a rehab clinic, it was obvious in her interviews that she was constantly on something. Her speech patterns were always slurred.
She desperately needed professional help. What the hell were the people around her doing?! Now it’s too late.

Rosie- you are evil. I’m glad Trump speaks the truth about you. You are not untouchable! No one is!
