NBC Adds Fourth Hour to 'Today'

As “Extra” first reported, NBC announced it will expand the “Today” show.

In order to accommodate a four hour, the network has cancelled its daytime soap “Passions,” which will likely continue through August, while insiders says the new “Today” show is slated to begin in September.

But loyal “Passions” lovers don’t cry just yet: there is mounting speculation that NBC will continue with its soap, but perhaps on a different platform.

You can be sure “Extra” will keep you informed on all the latest happenings!

This is an outraged NBC had better find a solution for this because I will tune out of NBC all together.

this sucks I have watch since day 1 even when it didnt go the way I wanted it to. Why do they have to cancle passions when there really isnt anything on that important most shows that are on before that are crap and just fillers take those out.

I only watch the Today show once or twice a year. My mother watches it and she’s 72. I think that is the audience the today show has.

However Passions I watch everyday. It has top rate actors and the only thing on passions that need to get the axe is the head writer. Give the show a chance with a REAL writer and Passions will be a number one show. No one under 50 wants to see 4 hours of the Today show i’m sorry.

Save Passions.

If Passions doesn’t somehow stay on the air either on MyTV network or someplace else I will boycott Days of Our Lives. Let’s get real. WHO HAS AN EXTRA HOUR TO WATCH NEWS?!? NBC is disappointing a legion of dedicated fans. Being 14, I LOVE this show. I know all the pre-marital sex is wrong, but I love watching the show and the LOVE that Miguel and Kay share (sorry Foxay fans).

I may have only been watching Passions for a few years now (I have seen the past episodes online), but I sincerely LOVE this show. I have never been a Soap Fan, but something made me continue to keep watching Passions. Maybe Tabitha put a spell on me. LOL Anyways… I NEVER miss an episode & truely love the characters of the show. Please do not cancel the show, I am going to miss my favorite show that I NEVER miss. :,(

Who in the hell needs 4 hours of The Today show, huh? NO ONE!! Nobody will watch 4 hours of news and its the stupidest idea I have ever heard! By adding another of a lowsy show you are losing a great…no wait scratch that… AMAZING SHOW!! You want to know the reason NBC is always sucky with the ratings.. well this is it!! By cancelling the best show to give another hour of a stupid show!! I am begging you!! PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION!! DONT TAKE AWAY PASSIONS BECAUSE IT WILL BE THE STUPIDEST IDEA THAT WILL HAVE EVER EXISTED!! I stopped watching the wb when they cancelled Angel and I will do the same for NBC!! SAVE PASSIONS!! Give to another network if you have to just let us keep it please!

Please let me state, that I think another hour of Today is a bad idea. But for those of you who lives will end if Passions is not on. PLEASE give me a break, what kind of careers (or be it Jobs) do you people have. At 10:00am I have (as with all of my co-workers) been at our desks and stations for 2 hours.

TRY GETTING OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND SEE WHAT THE WORLD LOOKS LIKE WITHOUT PASSIONS(same as it did before Passions

The world will go on with out the stupidity of PASSIONS.

PLEASE !!! Mederith Viera can’t even get through the show now, why do we need another hour to see her run the show into the ground ??? Just look at what her replacement on the the view was, another loud mouth loser, who does nothing but knock everyone else on tv, because she can’t make it on her own. I say let her go and bring on someone more capable !!!
Passions is a great show and I would hate to see it replaced for more repetition on the today show.
Give Matt Lauer a real partner to work with !!!

I really hope that it is considered for Passions to stay on. I watch the show everday and I have watched if for me years. I have watched this show since I was a teen and have stayed faithful to it. I so hope this isn’t the end..

Please, I can’t stand a restaurant where people are always talking. If you can’t get the today show done in 3 hours, cancel that and put more soaps on. Leave Passions where it is!!!!
