Isaiah Returns to 'Grey's Anatomy' Set

Isaiah Washington is looking forward to a fresh start after his now infamous slur aimed at costar T.R. Knight ignited a heated Hollywood controversy.

According to People magazine, Isaiah will return to the set of “Grey’s Anatomy” as early as this week.

Washington, who plays Dr. Preston Burke on the hit ABC drama, has been at the center of a firestorm ever since he slipped a homophobic slur.

Isaiah’s return will mark his first day back since he issued a statement, which revealed he would seek counseling “as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again.”

Washington was notably missing when the cast of the hit show picked up the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Drama over the weekend.

“There’s a little awkwardness here,” costar Katherine Heigl confided before the show.

Best Actress winner Chandra Wilson alluded to the absence of Isaiah during her acceptance speech, saying, “It’s about 10 cast members sitting over there and the other one in rehab.”

I think this guy Isaiah is a total jerk, he doesn’t even have the backbone to stand up and own what he did, he has to deny, deny, deny.

NICE. He probably is suffering from homosexual leanings himself and thats why he feels so negative toward gay men. My heart really went out to the guy he was making fun of.

I will no longer watch Grey’s Anatomy. I just can’t look at Isaiah Washington knowing what he stands for and knowing how many men of color would have loved to work with ALL those wonderful people on that show. ABC I’m also disappointed that you didn’t do anything yet. The comedy club took a stand very quickly with Michael Richards and I was sure you would have done the same. I guess it’s time to switch to NBC since ABC has decided to tolerate racial slurs from certain people!

I am very happy to hear that Isaiah is going back to work. I hope the cast and crew work together in harmony, there is problems in every family in this world, no one is perfect, its time to move on.
Speaking from experience we gays would like to believe we are very special and people should treat us diffrently, however, as I get older (63years) I realized we are looking for attention, please, please, stand up for yourself, use your own voice and not Katherine Hiegel’s - its time for her to step aside. I was an actor and my cast once told me if I cannot take the heat get out from the kitchen and I think you should do the same. We gays are not perfect we expect others to fight our battle and treat special.

Apparently all must be well….I just saw TR Knight on Sesame Street just now- i’ not making a joke here, i’m dead serious - and he was dressed up like a giant lower-case “I”….I as in “Isaiah” maybe…..of all the letters in the alphabet…..im sure it was probably taped pre-slur, but the timing couldn’t be more “i-ronic”…..a lil’ “extra” for EXTRA!

I am glad that IW is returning. I hope now that we can began to look forward to some good television from Grey’s anatomy without all the drama. I do hope that Katherine Hiegel finds another cause instead of TR to stay in front of the camera. TR is a big boy who should be standing up for himself.

She is really making him look weak. So Katherine get over yourself and do like Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson and rely on your talent. I for one am tired of looking at you. You are using TR for your own personal gain.

IW I hope you have brought more self control back to the set. TR I wish you nothing but peace through your journey, but please tell Katherine “You can stop I can take care of myself. Lets do some more good TV Grey’s Anatomy.

Katherine and IW you two need to remember there are other careers at stake here. Everybody knows a mind is strong and when you began to change the characters history shows the show began to go down hill. So you two need to check your egos at the door and get back to work.
