ABC to Take Action Against Isaiah Washington

In light of the recent controversy surrounding “Grey’s Anatomy” stars T.R. Knight and Isaiah Washington, ABC tells “Extra” today:

"We have had a long standing policy to create and maintain respectful workplaces for all our employees. We dealt with the original situation in October, and thought the issue resolved. Therefore, we are greatly dismayed that Mr. Washington chose to use such inappropriate language at the Golden Globes, that he himself deemed 'unfortunate' in his previous public apology. We take this situation very seriously, and his actions are unacceptable and are being addressed.”

He should absolutely be fired, and at once. What a pathetic person…

The Media has blown this out of proportion. This is begining to sound like a “Pic-Nic” for those of you who know how that phase began, you know what I mean. Leave the man alone and let him continue doing his job.

Hell-to-the-knawl he should not be fired. He should apologize. He is one of the reasons I watch Grey’s. Someone else in the role would totally change the dynamics. I’m sure none of you have turned Seinfeld off. Michael is still receiving a check for every episode played at 10pm nightly. Haters, haters, haters.

Nobody should be fired….If entertainment shows like this one and the press would just stop endlessly repeating things and aggrevating situations we would all be better off. All families should be encouraged to work out their disagreements ..they are a family. Why ruin one of the only good shows on TV by breaking up the cast…ABC, do we really need more reality TV? Don’t mess with a good thing….let them work it out!

I think it should be up to the cast, especially TR. If it’s nice and friendly when he’s on the set, then let him stay..If he causes tension on the set, then he should leave. It’s such a shame, because he’s a talented actor whose character we’ve all come to enjoy. It’s so sad that he had to treat a fellow actor with such disrespect. If this senseless hatred would just stop, and everyone would be more tolerant of others and let everyone just live their own lives, this world would be a better place. We love you TR and support you.

Yes, I think he should be fired. How
crude can one be. He could destroy
the whole show. I know he sure has
disturbed me.

He should absolutly be fired. If one of the other actors had gripped him by the throat and was tossing around the ‘N’ word like he uses the ‘F’ word…tell me one other profession where he wouldn’t have been fired immediatly.

I think they should leave it up to the cast. If they can all go back to work and it can be a friendly atmosphere on set, especially TR, then he should stay. If there’s tension when he’s around for everyone else, then he should be let go. It’s a shame this had to happen. He is a talented actor who we’ve all enjoyed, who’s character we love, but he was totally out of line, saying such a hurtful thing about his fellow actor. When it comes down to it, we are all human beings, who just deserve respect and kindness. The world would be a much better place if all this senseless hatred would just stop.

Hi. I enjoy the show but I never really thought he was right for the part but a lot of people aren’t right for part and grow on you. Mr. Washington seems to be a little childish. The funny thing is a lady in the store made a comment about “G - A” months ago. She said “They should have pick a cuter Black guy because they picked cute White ones”. I told her that we have to see all types on T.V. just as in real life. Thank you.

I don’t think he should be fired because he has apologized and is seeking guidance for this issue. I think the media needs to drop it and focus on the more important issues like the war in Iraq, and the situation in Darfur.

What is so funny to me, is that TR Knight IS gay, only Isaiah Washington used a word that is no longer appropriate, yet we all know it means the same thing. If he had called him that, and he wasn’t gay, well then he would have to apologize. It’s not nice calling people names, after all. But how many of us talk politically correct all the time?
Anyway, if you fire Mr. Washington, you will be killing, pretty much, the entire show. I just love watching Christina and Dr. Burk together. Those two characters are brilliant. Please don’t kill Dr. Burke!!! I love watching him and Christina. There’s so much potential there!

He is acting real arrogant. He seems to think that he can play the race card so he can say anything. Shame, shame.
