ABC to Take Action Against Isaiah Washington

In light of the recent controversy surrounding “Grey’s Anatomy” stars T.R. Knight and Isaiah Washington, ABC tells “Extra” today:

"We have had a long standing policy to create and maintain respectful workplaces for all our employees. We dealt with the original situation in October, and thought the issue resolved. Therefore, we are greatly dismayed that Mr. Washington chose to use such inappropriate language at the Golden Globes, that he himself deemed 'unfortunate' in his previous public apology. We take this situation very seriously, and his actions are unacceptable and are being addressed.”

Please do not fire Issah Washington, he is the best thing on G.A. and I love watching him. I do not believe he said anything and if he did he did not mean it, he is a great guy.

He is acting real arrogant. He seems to think that he can play the race card so he can say anything. Shame, shame.

If they fire Isaiah Washington, ABC is going to have one less viewer. I not going to watch another show on that network! You don’t have to like some one to work with them, you have to like their sexual preference to work with them (most republicans don’t agree with homosexuality, but they can still be in office working with homosexuals, say it ain’t so). Hell alot of my co-workers don’t like me, you think I care? All that do is motivate me to be better than the rest! Let’s learn how to forgive people for saying before thinking, let’s remember that we all get angry and say things that we regret later (you probably hurt somebody’s feeling today, didn’t you?). It’s okay, I forgive you for being stupid sometimes, I know that you were’nt really trying to hurt that person. If you did mean it maybe you had a reason to do it, sometimes some things are justifiable, even something as stupid as calling people out of their names. Please forgive that man for saying without thinking (we are all Guily of that)!

I think the ‘Press” makes too much of an incident before it is comfirmed. Most of the time blowned out of proportion with a lot of what if’s

I believe he should be fired. We all know very well if the situuation was reversed, and T.R. Knight had called Isaiah Washington a n*****, the doo-doo would have hit the fan. Washington should be more respectful of coworkers and people in general, regardless of differences. I agree with Kathrine Heigl, he shouldn’t be allowed to speak in public.

Leave Mr.Washinton alone he is Mr.McCoCo
SEXY. He is a good Actor and I don’t understand why he is being picked on for the 2nd time. It is wrong for people to feel that he should loose his job I feel that RACE is in the Mix. If it was not for that smart Afro-American creator none of these so-called other Actors on that show would not even have a Dam JOB, OK, OK PEACE OUT. WE LOVE MR.WASHINGTON AND YOU BETTER LEAVE HIM ALONE HE IS FINE MCCoCo SEXY THAT IS MR.WASHINGTON he is tell DARK and SEXY.

Yes he should be fired what if as you all are calling him “Mr. Washington” was called the “N” word. Mr. Knight would have been fired on the spot. No questions asked. The NAACP would have involed so fast. The same should happen to him. He has an ego problem and has had it since the show started. The show would be much better without him!!!!!

Since you have such a strong position on this against Isaiah, shouldn’t the same approach be taken for comments by Simon on American Idol? I’m sure most of the candidates know they may be made fun of, but the remarks about the shape of someones head and how they look is certainly not helping their self-esteem. I feel that the judges have gone to far so far this season. I know you like to have Simon as the bad guy, but people do deserve some respect. I feel this should be addressed as harshly as Isaiah is being disciplined. But, we all know that the allmighty dollar will override this decision for Simon because of his role. If you are serious about maintaining a certain standard, than apply it across the industry. I don’t particularly agree with most of what Rosie O’ say’s but I would have to agree with her on this one.

Thanks. Donald

Did Mr. Washington do all that he is accused of doing? He is accused of using a slur, choking a fellow cast member etc. If he used the slur, did he say it in anger or to inflict pain and emotional distress? As far as I am concerned, it is all hearsay. Michael Richards, on the other hand, was recorded using the N-word to inflict pain. His motive could not have been denied. Would he have apologized if he had not been recorded? Mel Gibson offered his support. Did anyone suggest that he never work again in the business? Was there a big outcry from the fans. No, the sales of the latest Seinfeld DVD was greater than previous ones. Richards will probably have a new show soon. I don’t think that Washington should be fired. I hope that he, Knight and others can reconcile their differences. I’m not a big TV fan, but Grey’s Anatomy is my favorite TV show. If ABC fires Washington, I will no longer watch the show.

NO do not fire the actor. That is what they used to be called before “gay” became more socially acceptable in our streets. I am sure he gets called the N word from time to time because some people call him that. They were raised to use the word for blacks. If a ho is a woman paid for sex and you call her that and yet she prefers the word escort… she has chosen a path in life that may get her called any number of names based on her decision. TV has vamped this out of proportion. He used bad judgement by being politically incorrect. He should not be fired for that. By the way, Trump also has his feud being blown out of propoprtion… he is a rich man that gets the women that he does because of his money - so he indirectly buys his women… at least Rosie has not bought her women. Rosie is funny and only said what we are all thinking about Trump. Trump won’t let it go, because he is using it as a pedestal to defend himself for the money issues he did have in the past. He doth protest too much - I say. GET OVER IT…

Hell no I don’t think Mr.Washington should be fired! He should be able to express himself anyway he damn well please (Mel Gibson did 2x!) After all this is America right? If his shoes were on Mr.Knight’s feet, this would not be a big deal(now would it?)Intelligent people should be able to forgive this man, he’s very frustrated right now and he’s trying to move on, but you people won’t let him (ignorant people, that is). Hell you all forgave MS.USA now didn’t you (she apologized for her mistakes too). Please let this man breathe (just alittle bit) so that he can start living again! P.S. screw everyone who posted a comment about this situation that’s using the N word, you all just want a reason, any reason to use your whiteness right now (just love to use that word whenever possible). You all have alot of nerve comparing Michael Richards to Isaiah Washington. All of you are N****** any way (please pick up a dictionary, meaning ignorant as hell!) I not trying to offend anyone, and I am not a racist. I’m just sick and tired of people trying to find a reason to use the N word in a negative way. Anyways for all the people that do use it, you all don’t know that it can only hurt people if they believe it. So go ahead and get your N word on and while you’re at it, be taking a good look in a mirror at yourself and then take a look at the person who taught you to be like that (maybe your mother, father, maybe your damn self) Peace!

We have already decided not to watch the show again until Mr. Washington leaves. It is a great show, but there are plenty more choices available on my cable box.

He should be fired — no hateful speech should be tolerated in the workplace.

- You're fired!

YES I BELIEVE HE SHOULD BE FIRED. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO TOLERATE BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. MR. WASHINGTON SERIOUSLY?

What was said Mr. Washington will have to answer to God for his actions. It is not my place to judge nor anyone else’s. He said he was sorry so move on and get a life. I don’t think he should be fired he is part a team and should remain that way. The press and George needs to let go and move on, if anything George should be let go for not letting things ride.
