Brandy's Deadly Car Crash: Listen to the 911 Tape

“Extra” breaks news on the deadly car accident involving R&B star Brandy, as we heard the frantic 911 calls made just seconds after the four-car pile up.

The witness tells emergency response of a “bad, bad accident; I think one of them rolled.”

It’s been one month since the deadly crash, which started when Brandy rear ended a car on L.A.’s 405 freeway.

So far, nobody has been charged, leaving many to wonder if Brandy is getting the celebrity treatment.

The California Highway Patrol told “Extra,” no, Brandy will receive no special treatment.

Rather, the case is about to be turned over to prosecutors.

“We hope to wrap up the investigation by the end of this week,” CHP revealed.

My heart goes out the the family of the woman that passed in this. I know personally that it is really hard to lose someone before their time. My heart also goes out to Brandy. I wish her the best, I know this must be very hard for her too. No one would ever want to feel responsible for someone elses death. I hate this country and all there suing. Its like thats all people want to do. When my father died everyone was like you should sue, but all I cared about was my father. And they are called accidents for a reason. She wasn’t drunk, high, or anything, just like the guy who crashed into my father, why would I blame him, I’m sure he blames himself enough. God bless all the people involved in this. People who sue over accidents like this act as if they themselves have never been in an accident, I know I have (Thanls to God only minor ones.) Difficult situation.

i’m like Randy Cofield 50 mil. who can think of money in the grieving process. Now are you really grieving or being money hungry. Face it, if it was an average JOE would you sue for 50 mil? To the family of the lost love one do remember GOD makes no mistakes. Don’t try to get rich off your love one death. Sorry if this sound sencesless, but 50 mil. its not only sencesless, its outragous.

My heart truely goes out to the family of the deceased, and my heart goes out to Brandy and her family. In high school I did my final term paper on the life of Brandy Norwood and I learned so much about her and her family! I know that they are a God loving family and that her father is a Preacher. I know that unfortunate things happen everyday. If it wasn’t a celebrity that it happened to would it be as much publicity? Everyone talking about her being on her cell phone! I’m broke and poor as hell (excuse my french) but I have transportation and have a cell phone. So would it be any different if it was to happen to someone who didn’t have the fame that she has? Don’t accidents happen everyday? Do you really think she planned this accident before she got behind the wheel? How was it? “Oh I think I’m gonna jump in my 80 thousand vechile and go cause a deadly accident today!” Do that even sound right? Brandy I’m praying for you and I know that you are close with your Holy Father, and with your faith and your family, friends, and fans support you will get through this. You are certainly in my prayers! I love you and I am your biggest fan!!! God Bless you girl!!!

People, it’s already been determined that Brandy was not on her cell phone. And Brandy certainly has more insurance than a million dollars. Celebs have to carry millions of dollars worth of liabilty insurance. You and I can get up to 2mil so imagine what they have to get.
But $50mil? I just hope it works out the way that God wants it to work out and it doesnt destroy Brandy but make stronger and grow closer to God. She can’t change what happen. There are a lot of folk who think that couldn’t have happened to anyone else. But it has.

Oh my..how Americans have grown so ignorant. Someone lost their life in an incident that involved someone who wasn’t paying attention…how ironic how anything can keep your mind off of the road..LA freeway is probably the craziest place to drive in and requires attention to the roads. I agree that she should be investigated and given the appropriate legal punishments. This isn’t Moesha folks…not a sitcom…real life, and someone’s real life was just stolen from them because of a moment of poor judgement on the road. If it weren’t for her popularity and “star” status, we wouldn’t even be hearing about this…you all need to step back and imagine yourself in the shoes of the victim’s family. It’s extremely disrespectful to criticize someone’s motives for sueing after a tragic death like this…all of you who commented about that should be ashamed of yourselves!

this case is so easy: Black and Successful Woman…it’s a surprise that she was not arrested. But that would be too problematic and attrack national support for the Star. That is why the police are handling this case diligently.

go figures: LA, right! We have an accident. One that led to the death of an innocent however, a simple accident. Now she is being sued and for an astronomical amount. how could a family think about suing while they are grieving. makes you wonder about their motives

All actions have consequences - whether we meant to do it or not. It is unfortunate that the mistakes of our lives can cause harm, or even death, to others, but that is the reality of life. I am sure it was not on Brandy’s “To Do” list for that day, but she, and anyone else who “accidentally” kills someone, must live up to the reality of what happened - hence the term “INVOLUNTARY” manslaughter.

I am sorry for the family who lost
there loved one. But Brandy, I do not think they should place blame on you because for something that was an accident they need to focuse on murders that get off with probation and know what they are doing. I don’t think because your a star they should charge you with anything. There are lots of accidents out there that on the police report they will say this was an accident and go on with there lives as if nothing happened because the person that caused the accident was a nobody a regular housewife, sales man, or just a cashier. I hope the best for you and your family Brandy.

Because nobody was there to really witness what happened it is unfair to pass judgement on brandy and the whole accident. we don’t really know if it was her who caused the accident and if she did it wasn’t her intention to kill someone. and if police didn’t find her under the influence of any subtance then we can’t judge her, it is what it is an accident. any one can have them. and this is coming from someone who oldest brother was killed in a horrible car crash. only god can judge. not people.

Brandy was probably talking on her
cell phone while driving and not
paying attention to traffic, just
like the actress Rebecca Gearhart
who killed a 9 yr old boy, she was
on her cell and wondered why 3 cars
were STOPPED, so she drove around the
3 STOPPED CARS while talking on her
cell, and BAM, she hit a 9 yr old boy
crossing the street. NOT PAYING
ATTENTION. Rebecca Gearhart did not
get jailed, read she just got a fine and
200 hrs of community service. SHAME.

its sad that the wreck happened, but she should of been paying closer attention of what was going on in front her,and would of been able to slow down, like the rest of the traffic, she should be at fault, she hit her in the rear, not paying attention,on a cell???why didnt she know what was going on in front of her.she is responsible for the womans death.i feel so sorry for her family.

I don’t personally know who was at fault and who wasn’t considering I wasn’t there. From what I’ve seen of her, I like Brandy and can’t foresee that this was something she did on purpose. However, in reading these comments I’m getting a little irritated at how people are stressing the words “AN ACCIDENT.” As I said, I don’t know if it was truly an accident or not, but I do know that when my first husband was killed by a drunk driver, that was called “AN ACCIDENT” too. Be careful how loosely you use those words. Lack of acknowledgement can be just as damaging and painful to the family of the deceased. My heart and prayers go out to ALL involved.

To be Honest, We all may have been in situations that weren’t appropriate or may be illegal and got off free. We can only give our opinions on this situations because we were not there at all. No one knows exactly what went wrong or who caused what except for those involved and they may not really the important details. We are talking about Life and Death and you all act as if this is a joke or a debate on Famous or not Famous. Any one of us could have been in that situation and some of those negative comments would have been rearranged. Everyone is human but we all are suppose to be accountable for our own mistakes. Some of the cautious drivers make mistakes and get hurt. Then you have those who are so careless and nothing terrible happens to them. I really do not think that she purposely tried to hit the vehicle or harm anyone. I will admit that I don’t know how I would have reacted if that was someone that was apart of my life or if that had happen to me but I understand how it feels to lose love ones from somebody else mistakes and from a mistaken identity. I send sympathy to the the Family/Friends of the deceased and to Brandy. I pray that the Authorities find out what has happen so that the deceased can rest in peace, as well as those around. We are quick to judge others and forget that they are humans as well and we can face those same obstacles, trials and tribulations.

You americans are pathetic. Grow up and report some real news. All you are interested in is making celebrties lives miserable. Don’t you think it COULD have been JUST AN ACCIDENT????

The one word I haven’t seen used is preventable. If you are behind the wheel of
a deadly weapon you are required to have
care and control. And to hit another stopped vehicle while doing 125km/80mph
is beyond doubt careless if not criminal
negligence celebrity or not.I just hope the consience payoff is large enough for the grieving family to move on.
