Brandy Sued for $50 Million over Deadly Crash

Brandy is being sued for $50 million by the parents of the woman killed in a car crash involving the R&B singer.

“Extra” obtained a copy of the court papers, which were filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The California Highway Patrol recommended on Monday that Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

In December, Brandy hit a car from behind which spurned a 5-car accident on L.A.’s busy 405 freeway, in which a mother of two was killed.

Brandy needs to pay, maybe not the 50 million dollars, but that family deserves to be finacially stable since the mother will no longer be around.

Hey Extra

I have been reading that they are considering charging Brandy, she needs to be charged,I’m glad to hear she has to pay the family money-true 50 million is a bit much, she should have been told to set up a college fund for the kids, pay for a nice funeral for the lady,I don’t think she should get any jail time that wouldn’t benefit either side,I mean she did feel remorse and acknowledges what she did, criminal would be if she thought it wasn’t her fault,so let her pay the family and hope that they(the family) could find some peace in that solution.
Thank You.

Let this be!!…i mean it disgusses me that at a time for recovery and greiving and trying to get over such a tramatic event the first thing that the family wants to do is sue for such a large amount of money!!!…how nasty…it makes my skin tingle with just thinking about it!…what kind of person and what morals does he have to think of such a montracity thing to do!!!…its extremely greedy and inmoral!!…and they are esp using brandys fame to the limit here!…i bet if it was some old poor lady in a station wagon they would put their attention on the family and trying to overcome a tragic event like this one…not see how much money they can get out of the other person…this is a time for recovery for brandy as well and he wants to put this on her already!!…that man is corrupt and if he takes any money from brandy than he cares for the money more than his own wife!!!!…accidents happen all the time!…theres no need for pointing fingers!!!…they are supposed to be adults!

I assume Brandy would pay the family(the woman’s husband and child)just to make sure they will be okay financially and I’m sure she set up some kind of trust fund for the child. I’ve read that Brandy was remorsed and distraught when the accident happened. My question is, is the woman even close to her parents? I’m not close to my mom, we don’t even speak to each other. My dad was killed by a drunk driver when I was in the 1st grade. We did get some money from the accident but I never saw it because I was a minor when it happened. My mom spent it all on herself. I don’t depend on my mom financially or she don’t depend on me financially. I paid my own way to college and when I was having financial hardship my mom was not there for me. If anything happens to me, it would be awful if my mom sued for 50 million dollars and got rich because of my death.

I think Brandy should pay the family something. If not for her negligence, this woman would still be alive and her children would still have a mother. I think $50 million is a little extreme, but I see nothing wrong with Brandy compensating this family for their loss. If Brandy had come forward and offered the family any kind of assistance, she may not be a litigant in a civil suit.

I knew this was coming. I told a friend of mine that even if she had a auto policy with $1 million in liability payout that this incident would exceed her policy and that the lawyer representing the family of the woman who was killed would go after her personal assets in a wrongful death suit. Not to mention the other cars involved in the pile-up who are also going to sue. This could be financially devastating for Brandy. However, NO amount of money can compensate for the lost of life. This civil suit is to address future loss of income that this person could have contributed to her family if she was still alive.
