Hollywood’s most promising newcomers shined at this year’s Hollywood Magazine’s Breakthrough Awards in Los Angeles.

“The Devil Wears Prada” star Anne Hathaway dazzled in the latest trend, an empire-waisted Oscar de la Renta with a bubble skirt, as she received the Star of the Year award.

Also honored at the event were “Dreamgirl” Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Biel, who joked, “They must have got the wrong person; they must be kidding!”

Biel took home the Breakthrough Role honors for her work in “The Illusionist,” and she looked simply magical in a stunning Alessandro Dell Aqua number.

Meanwhile, Hudson, who is already garnering Oscar buzz for her role in “Dreamgirls,” had this message for “American Idol’s” Simon Cowell: “Just go see the movie… on Christmas, Simon!”
