Prince Harry to Serve in Iraq?

princeharrywar.jpg
England’s Prince Harry is determined to go to Iraq with his army unit, reports the UK’s Daily Telegraph.

Despite concerns that the youngest son of Prince Charles could be a target for terrorists or draw unwanted attention to his soldiers, the 22-year-old royal wants to join the front line.

If the prince gets his way, he would be assigned to patrol the Iran-Iraq border.

Now that’s bravery at its finest!

I feel that it takes a lot of courage to say to all of these army officers that he wants no special treatment if sent and that all of his men are at the risk of injury or possibly even death and that he is no different and if he is or killed, he feels he did the right thing, fighting for his country, and that is all that matters! This is his passion and if he is willing to sacrifice his life, then let him! He is doing a very honourable and commendable thing and I think people should praise him for his dedication and perseverance and a boy Who’s turned his life around from the “Party Prince” to a dedicated and commendable pince who wants to fight for his country and has proved he is loving and caring with all the charity work he does and i think he’s a great and dedicated prince who people should give more praise to!!!! Keep on going Harry! Fightfor what you believe in, you’re doing a great job!!!! Long live Pince Harry!!!!!!

Thank you Prince Harry. There is no better way to know what your fellow countrymen are experiencing without being their yourself! What you see and learn, at the front, will not just make you a better Leader but will show that you are willing to lead by example. Future policy, in the World, can be influenced by what you experience with your fellow countrymen. The earned respect you will receive from this is something knowone will be able to take away from you.God’s Speed Prince Harry and thank you. Doc Poquette (2id&101stAbn.Ret.)

I for one can respect the Princes choice to got to Irac I do not agree with the war but when you consider the fact that he can definately ‘get out’ of serving there with his possition in the world and with a call to his father to know that his is willing to serve beside his fellow soldiers and and not take the easy way out you have to respect him The average person serving in the military regardless if it be the United States England or any country have no choice if called up Alot of people in his simular possision would pull the strings to keep from going why should he be any different then my brother or friends or anyone else who has no choice in the decision of where they are stationed Yes they choose to serve in the military but if we didnt have so many brave men and women who joined then we would be forced to endure the draft again here in the United States

Prince Harry holds my highest esteem in his endeavers to reach the front line of a senseless war. However.. since he is third in line to the British throne, perhaps he should reconsider the actual military front line, and approach the “Business end of the Front Line.” If his Father can champion Organic Gardening.. Perhaps Prince Harry can champion the rights of people world wide to be able to enjoy peace… regardless of their religious preference. Saddam is dead! The point has now been made. So when do we stop killing innocent women and children?
Hasn’t there been enough distruction? It would be if this were a perfect world.
Allow Prince Harry his passion. Prince Charles is a lackey as a potential King, while Prince William has all of his Mothers heart and his Grandmothers regality. Prince Harry has what it takes to touch the world in an entirely different manner, through the military. He can bring his Mothers heart, along with that of his Brothers touch to a dieing world and hopefully make some sense out of it. These two Princes have it within them to change world thinking. Give them a go at it and they will do well. God Save Prince Willaim and Prince Harry.

I hope Prince Harry doesn’t get killed during such a war based on our president’s unethical war policies(which suck, basically) if and when he does get deployed to Iraq as a part of the British military.
I hope he’ll find a different way to fight a war than actually being in harm’s way.
Perhaps he needs to carefully weigh his options adequately with himself and with those closest to him before considering fighting a war that’s not worth it for him at all.
He’s royalty, sure, but to squander that by being in Iraq unprepared for the worst(as in getting killed instantly) isn’t a good move for him at all.

It is worrisome that a prince in spite of all advantage does not have the courage to stand against a war that is morally wrong, much less to volunteer himself for the front lines of it. Courage is not only a matter of willingness to fight but of choosing ones battles appropriately. The greatest generals of history HATED war and had the good sense to know when war had to be chosen and always as a LAST RESORT. The Iraq war is no such case. It is an imperialist war that is meddling in the affairs of people it simply does not have the capacity to understand, so much like the costly embarassments of South Africa and the like. I am seeing all to much of The Leopard in the actions of the young members of this one of the last survivinng monarchies. More tragically so that this comes precisely at a time when monarchy could stand as a more favorable alternative to world-wide fascism and internationally warring fascist dictators. No concert of free, self determining nations exist in this. These princes need a political education that they are not getting in either in thier military training nor at school nor aparantly from their parents and peers.
