Patrick Dempsey Toasts to Success


Patrick Dempsey and the rest of the “Grey’s” docs are full of holiday cheer, as they were just named Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainers of the Year.

“We’re all very proud of this,” Patrick said. “I think the show is successful because it is everybody, all the different characters and storylines.”

Team George Generates Plans for the South


It was a tale of two Georges when ABC’s Diane Sawyer sat down with Former U.S. President George Bush and Sexiest Man Alive George Clooney, to get to the bottom of this unlikely duo on Thursday morning’s “Good Morning America.”

Their goal: to help Cameron, Louisiana, a small town devastated by Hurricane Rita.

“This was about saving and bringing to life a hospital that was devastated in the storm,” the elder Bush said.

But how did the former Prez recruit someone from outside the politically charged world?

“I’m driven,” he said simply.

How does he get lucky with the ladies? “You’re assuming I’m lucky,” he joked, pointing out, “Everyone’s lucky every once in a while.”

MADD Cuts Ties with Miss Teen USA

Miss USA may have got a second chance, but Miss Teen USA, Katie Blair, will not.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) announced Wednesday that it has ended its relationship with Blair.

“We do not feel, at this time, that Ms. Blair can be an effective spokesperson on underage drinking and will not ask her to represent MADD in future initiatives,” the organization said in a statement.

We wonder if Trump will try to get her out of this one.


Thalía Takes a Tumble in Aspen

Singer Thalía and record mogul husband Tommy Mottola have been playing the role of ski bunnies on the fresh powder of Aspen, Colo., for the past few days.

But their trip took an unexpected twist when Thalía took a tumble, and badly injured her leg.

According to TMZ.com, the bundled up singer was put in a sled and hurried to the base of mountain by Ski Patrol, where help was waiting.

NBC to Add 4th Hour to 'Today' Show?

Amid rumors that the New York based “Today” show will add a fourth hour to their morning routine, a spokesperson for NBC says the final decision will be announced early next year.

“There is a strong possibility” of the expansion, NBC News spokesperson Megan Koft said, declining further comment.

However, insiders reveal that the hour will be added next September, at the start of the 2007-2008 TV season, and the move would be coupled with the cancellation of the low-rated soap opera, “Passions.”

Britney Causes a Scene in Hollywood


Another mob scene erupted in Hollywood Wednesday night as a not-so-thrilled Britney Spears, who was swaddled by a coat to hide from the shutterbugs, headed out for a night of clubbing with friends.

Earlier in the day, Britney shopped for the people on her nice list. “Extra” has also learned Brit is already rehearsing for her big New Year’s Eve bash in Las Vegas.

Not only is she keeping busy with work and play, Britney is also keeping up with her newest purchase: a $7.2 million Beverly Hills mansion!


P. Diddy Welcomes Twin Baby Girls

P. Diddy is a brand new P. Daddy, as he and girlfriend Kim Porter became proud new parents of twin baby girls on Wednesday!

The twins arrived within minutes of each other, and weighed in at five pounds each.

Diddy flew in to Manhattan from Toronto for their big arrival, where he’s currently filming the TV remake of “A Raisin in the Sun.”

Congrats to the proud new parents!

Just one day after Miss USA Tara Conner was spared by Donald Trump, shocking X-rated photos of Vegas beauty, 22-year-old Katie Rees, have surfaced and escalated the controversy that began when naughty pics of Katie surfaced on an escort-themed MySpace page.

The photos are explicit, showing Katie in topless poses and performing explicit acts on another girl.

On Wednesday, our Carlos Diaz spoke to Vegas FOX 5 broadcaster Jason Feinberg, the man who crowned Katie Miss Nevada, and he told us he never imagined she would be involved in something like this.

Sly Stallone Steps Back into the Ring


The champ is officially back, as “Rocky Balboa” opens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday.

Sylvester Stallone is celebrating his comeback in the party capital of America, Las Vegas, with our Carlos Diaz.

“Extra” was with the box office champ and his wife, Jennifer, at Planet Hollywood for the Sin City premiere of his new movie.

“It was a real long shot,” Stallone said of stepping back into the ring. “But I just wanted to take one last shot at it.”

ABC's NBA Open to Feature The Pussycat Dolls

This year’s NBA coverage on ABC, the home of the 2007 NBA Finals, will feature The Pussycat Dolls during the opening segment of all regular-season game broadcasts.

The open, which will debut during the Christmas Day broadcast featuring the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat, will use an adaptation of The Pussycat Dolls’ song “Right Now.”

"The Pussycat Dolls, one of the hottest pop groups in the world right now, are a great complement to our presentation of the NBA on ABC,” said Mike Pearl, the executive in charge of production of the NBA on ABC. “Like the incredible athletes who play in the NBA, The Pussycat Dolls have unique talents. Their music, dancing ability and youthful energy will help set the tone for our coverage of the NBA."
